Save, Reset and Cancel Button PowerApps for SharePoint List

Hi,

I would like to ask for your help.

I am building a canvas for my SharePoint List wherein I am trying to add Submit and Cancel buttons.

My canvas looks like a form where users are required to fill in necessary data and at the end, they need to save it so that a new row in my MS List will be created.

Now, here are my requirements:

- Submit button: Provided that all required fields are populated this should be activated and once clicked all fields will reset to default

- Cancel/Reset button: Serves like an undo but all filled information will be set to default view

Here is the view of the form:

So at the bottom part the buttons should be there

Hi @ComicSansrival

For your Submit button:

DisplayMode property - If(Form1.Valid, DisplayMode.Edit, DisplayMode.Disabled);

OnSelect - SubmitForm(Form1); NewForm(Form1);

For your Reset/Cancel button:

OnSelect - ResetForm(Form1);

Please tick Accept as solution if the answer is useful.

Thanks,

Hi,

It depends on how you want it.

1. do you want the Submit visible but not clickable

--This one requires you to write an expression in the DisplayMode property, so that it evaluates to true or false.  Essentially it's a big "boolean check statement".

But let's pretend you only had 1 text field.

in the buttons DisplayMode property you would write the below code, again you need to add in your full expression based on what you are checking to validate if they should be able to click.

If(IsBlank(TextInput.Text), DisplayMode.Disabled, DisplayMode.Edit)

In this example the IsBlank can tell if anyone typed in the TextInput control. And it returns true or false based on that. That value then updates the DisplayMode to either Disabled or Edit (clickable)

2. or do you want it invisible until its clickable.

This is just like DisplayMode in use, but it instead makes it visible or not. Which makes its it a little less code

IsBlank(TextInput.Text)

The reason the code is so much less is because the IsBlank returns a boolean value and the Visible property requires a boolean value. So it will return true or false.

Now thats how you would do that.

As for the Cancel/Reset, you mention that it would undo. If you mean undo the UI, thats one thing, if you mean a submit thats been done, its a whole different requirement.

Can you clarify if you mean role back screen or just reset the screen to defaults?

If its defaults and pending on the control you would need to

1. Reset any variables populating or setting Default values

2. Reset any collections

3. Reset the control Reset(ControlName)

4. And in some cases you have to do a special little trick. Each control has a Reset property. Sometimes you need to trigger this to make it reset.

a) create a boolean variable, which you will assign to all the Controls Reset property

in your reset button set the variable to true and then immediately false.

Please make sure you do 1/2/3 before you do 4 (if needed).

So in your button it looks like this

Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
Now Step 4
Set(myResetVariable, true);
Set(myResetVariable, false);

Cheers

Hi @FLMike,

Ideally the goal is to copy these buttons in SharePoint List:

ComicSansrival_0-1695286961657.png

- If all required fields are populated then a new list will be created

- Cancel button - for now we can ignore this

- Reset button - this will return the UI/Fields to its original view which is blank.

Hi @ComicSansrival,

To achieve something like this, you can place a button over an icon and text label with the fill property being transparent.
