Send e-mail of submit form data to user and cc 2 others

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how to complete the following in the click 2 buttons. I tried using methods from https://www.spguides.com/powerapps-send-email/ but I've only gotten as far as having an e-mail sent but not the content/form entries I'd like.

- Currently using Microsoft list and have a form on powerapps for User A to complete

- I'd like the entries to be submitted to Microsoft List which I do through Submit(form)

- There are entries like session/date/user A name/comments/topic/ in the form to be filled and I'd like those entries to be e-mailed as a summary to themselves (user A) and cc'ed to their manager and another manager. Essentially, I'd like the data submitted to be e-mailed and cc'ed.

- The 2 managers would be different depending on User A so ideally, if User A could enter the managers' name/e-mail somewhere and the form could be cc'ed to them that would be great.

Hi @JD2121 ,

To send an email with form data in PowerApps and CC it to others after submitting to a Microsoft List:

Use SubmitForm() to submit data to the list.
Collect the submitted data and the manager's emails from the form fields or using YourFormName.LastSubmit.ColumnName.
Use Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2() to send the email with the collected data in the body. Include User A's email as the recipient and the managers' emails in the CC field.
Example code on the button's OnSelect property:

SubmitForm(YourForm);
Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(
UserAEmail.Text,
"Summary of Submission",
"Details: " & YourForm.LastSubmit.Details & " ...",
{Cc: Manager1Email.Text & ";" & Manager2Email.Text}
);

Ensure to replace UserAEmail.Text, Manager1Email.Text, and YourForm.LastSubmit.Details with the actual names of your text inputs and form data fields. This assumes you have set up the Office 365 Outlook connector and have appropriate permissions.

Please accept this solution if it resolves the issue.
Best regards,
Muhammad Ali

Hi, thank you so much! I tried what you put (kept e-mail same for all just for testing purposes) but am getting an error still. Could you please let me know what I'm doing wrong? Activity = name of form / TxtEmailAddress = name of text input for e-mail / Session = name of one of the columns

SubmitForm(Activity);
Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(
TxtEmailAddress,
"Summary of Submission",
"Details: " & Activity.LastSubmit & "Session",
{Cc: TxtEmailAddress & ";" & TxtEmailAddress}
);

Hi @JD2121 ,

Submit Form: First, submit your form data to the Microsoft List using SubmitForm(Activity).

Format Email Body: Construct the email body by referencing specific fields from the form submission. Use Activity.LastSubmit.FieldName for each field you want to include, like Activity.LastSubmit.Session, Activity.LastSubmit.Date, etc.

Send Email: Use Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2() to send the email. Format the email body with the details from the form and include the recipient and CC addresses. For instance:

SubmitForm(Activity);
let emailBody = "Session: " & Activity.LastSubmit.Session &
                "\nDate: " & Activity.LastSubmit.Date & ... ; // Add other fields as needed
Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(
    TxtEmailAddress.Text, // Recipient's Email
    "Summary of Submission", // Email Subject
    emailBody, // Email Body
    {Cc: Manager1Email.Text & ";" & Manager2Email.Text} // CC Emails
);

Error Handling: Ensure that the form field names used in the code match exactly with those in your form. If there's an error, check the specific error message for more accurate troubleshooting.

Make sure that the Office 365 Outlook connector is properly configured with the necessary permissions. If the issue persists, sharing the exact error message would help in providing more specific guidance.

Please accept this solution if it resolves the issue.
Best regards,
Muhammad Ali

Thank you. I tried but am still getting an error. Below is what I have (I removed the 2nd cc e-mail to try and simplify). I've added a screenshot below also.

JD2121_1-1699651837558.png

SubmitForm(Activity);
Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(
TxtEmailAddress.Text,
"Summary of Submission",
"Date: " & Activity.LastSubmit.Date &
"Competency: " & Activity.LastSubmit.Competency;
{Cc: MgrEmailAddress.Text}

Hi @JD2121 ,

The issue seems to be with how you're constructing the email body. You need to ensure all data fields are converted to text. Also, make sure to close your strings properly and use commas to separate the parameters in  SendEmailV2. Here’s the corrected code:

SubmitForm(Activity);
Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(
    TxtEmailAddress.Text,
    "Summary of Submission",
    "Date: " & Text(Activity.LastSubmit.Date) & "; Competency: " & Activity.LastSubmit.Competency,
    {Cc: MgrEmailAddress.Text}
);

This should fix the error and send the email with the form data. Give it a try!

If this solution resolves your issue, please consider marking it as accepted.

Warm regards,
Muhammad Ali

Thank you, I used the corrected formula but am receiving the below message. I'm wondering if not all my data fields are converted to text? When I go to format, it says text for the e-mail inputs but is there somewhere else I should be checking to make sure it's converted to text?
