I have two fields,
Status Field (Choice Field): New / Pending / Complete
% Complete Field (Number Field):
if i change the status field on the edit form to Complete, i would like to automatically change the % Complete to 100, likewise, if i change the % Complete to 100, for it to automatically change the status to 'Complete'

Hi @vandam2 ,
On the OnSelect of the Combo Box
UpdateContext({varComplete: Self.Selected.Value = "Complete"})
DefaultSelectedItems of the Combo Box (assuming it is in a Form)
{
Value:
If(
varComplete,
"Complete",
ThisItem.Status.Value
)
}
OnChange of the Slider
UpdateContext({varComplete: Self.Value = 100})
Default of Slider (note I have assumed your field name here)
If(
varComplete,
100,
ThisItem.'% Complete'
)
OnVisible of the screen
UpdateContext({varComplete: false})

For a cleaner way to do it in case, you can try this:
Default property of Dropdown
myDefaultValueDrp
Default property of Slider
myVarDefaultSld
OnVisible of Screen
Set(myDefaultValueDrp,"1");Set(myVarDefaultSld,100)
OnChange of Slider
If(Self.Value = 100,Reset(Dropdown1))
OnChange of Dropdown
If(Self.Selected.Value = "1",Reset(Slider1))
However, if you wanted to set 100% Completed, and then also do the same thing but with say 50% and Pending, on the same pair of Controls, this solution would not work, instead the first version I gave might work better in that case.
If it is possible, you should prefer this version, if for example you just want 100% Completed and that's it.
NOTE: actually, it may be possible to use this version of the solution, even for multiple changes, by setting the variable as a function call just right before Reset of the Control. If that is possible (and I won't check it in detail at the moment), then actually, that should be preferred, to using two Set calls.
See if it helps as well @vandam2

To do this reliably, I have found that using a variable for the Default property, and then setting that variable to two completely different values in same formula, causes the automatic modification of the other control to work consistently and correctly, and I tested it.
For example, try this:
Default property of Dropdown
myDefaultValueDrp
Default property of Slider
myVarDefaultSld
OnChange property of Dropdown
//example - adjust as needed
If(Self.Selected.Value = "1",Set(myVarDefaultSld,99);Set(myVarDefaultSld,100))
OnChange property of Slider
If(Self.Value = 100,Set(myDefaultValueDrp,"2");Set(myDefaultValueDrp,"1"))
When using only one Set function, it does not work for me.
It is necessary to have Set function called twice, otherwise it does not work for me according to my testing - and it's important that the value used in the first Set call, is something different from what you actually want - and then the value used in the subsequent Set call, is the value that you actually want. In this case, it works for me when I tested it.
To explain why this works - well I'm not sure about why, I suspect it's some internal implementation detail. Since the value of the variable is being changed to another value than it was before, and this variable is in the Default property of the Control, for some reason it's causing it to automatically set the Default.
This is a bit tricky way to do it, but it may be more flexible for you.
Just in case, I will give a cleaner way to do it in a follow up post, but it may not work in a more complex scenario, it would only work if you wanted to set it to 100% and Completed - and not do something else. If you want to do more than one of these sorts of changes for both controls, this solution, although not as clean, may be more usable for that scenario.

worked like a charm, thanks again Warren
Hi Warren,
I have an (almost) the same ask in the Power Apps I worked on, and I referred to your answer to try to get it work. However, there seems to be some problems.
My scenario is in the form there is a "Status" field using dropdown box with selection of "To Start", "Progressing" and "Completed", there is a "Project Progress" field which is a number type. The end goal is when Project Progress is being updated to 100, Status choice filed will automatically populated the selection "Completed", vice versa i.e. when Status is being selected as "Completed", Progress will populate the number 100.
Referencing your code above, in Progress data field,
OnChange = If(ThisItem.'Project Progress' = 100, UpdateContext({varComplete:true}), UpdateContext({varComplete:false}))
Default = ProgressValue
On Status Dropdown box:
Default SelectedItems = {
Value:
If(
varComplete,
"Completed",
ThisItem.Status.Value
)
}
OnSelect = If(DataCardValue13.Selected.Value = "Completed", UpdateContext({ProgressValue: 100}), UpdateContext({ProgressValue: Value(DataCardValue14.Text)}))
*DataCardValue13 is the Status dropdown box whereas DataCardValue14 is the Project Progress data field number data card.
And OnVisible of screen set varComplete: false
The problem with this is, in Edit mode of the form, every data entry's Status is showing "Completed" by default, even when the Progress value is say 35. Although in View mode, the Status will show "Progress". This confuses users. I am wondering if there is anything that can be done to "fix" this.
Many thanks! @WarrenBelz
