Share Point List Row Selection in Power App

HI Experts and Users,

I have created a Share Point List (WireLogBookV2),  my goal is to have  a "Live" Log of my Wire "Assets". When a "Asset" is Utilized in the field the Specialist must make Utilization entries (Columns in the SP List). Example --

(Location - Wire Asset # - Unit Serial Number- Manufacturer-Spooled Date- Spooled Length, Wire Test, Remaining Length, Run Remarks)

This SP list will contain multiple Assets from around the world, with each having unique List Column identifiers such as Location and Unit Serial Number.

The App user simply navigates to " Browse Screen" then with drop down 1 selects Location- then Drop down 2 Selects one of the  " Unit Serial Number (Assets)" for the chosen location. 

When Drop Down 2 is selected, The app pulls the data from the Share Point list and Auto Populates some of the data that i do not want edited. Basically saying OK you chose this asset here is the basic information for your asset. 

Drop Down 1 =

Items: Sort(Distinct(WireLogBookV2,Title), Result)

Drop Down 2 =

OnSelect: Set(varRecord, LookUp(WireLogBookV2, UnitSerialNumber=Dropdown2_1.SelectedText.Value&&Max(ID)))

OnChange: Set(varRecord, LookUp(WireLogBookV2, nitSerialNumber=Dropdown2_1.SelectedText.Value&&Max(ID)))

Items:Distinct(Filter(WireLogBookV2, Title=Dropdown2.SelectedText.Value).UnitSerialNumber,UnitSerialNumber)

OnSelect: EditForm(EditForm1);Navigate(EditScreen1, ScreenTransition.None)

The next step is to fill in the Utilization data in the Edit Screen. The user Selects the Pencil Icon and navigation to the Edit screen occurs. Eg. Edit Fields- 

Date - Client- Field- Wire Test Type- Wire Test Results- Max Depth- Max Tension - Wire Cut off Drum- Remaining Length- Run Number- Run Remarks- Specialist Name.

Update: DataCardValue3.Text

MaxLength: DataSourceInfo([@WireLogBookV2], DataSourceInfo.MaxLength, "WireCutFromDrum")

RemainingLength Card =

Update: DataCardValue35.Text

MaxLength: DataSourceInfo([@WireLogBookV2], DataSourceInfo.MaxLength, "RemainingLength")

This works fine, Except- 

1. When editing the Wire Cut off and I enter a value like 10 or 20 it subtracts from the remaining length value great, but its pulled form the first entry i created int eh SP List. Not the last entry i submit from the app.  I need the App to Pull the Last (Row) entry of the chosen Asset.

2. I need the Remaining length of the last entry to auto populate to the Browse Screen when the asset selection occurs. It currently is doing this but showing the value of the subtracted length from the first entry in SP.

Hope i have not confused you and got my issues across. thanks to help out if possible. I had a Better programmer (trained at least) helping but he is not available for some time now.

Hi @SkidFx ,

Regarding the formula you provided in your Dropdown 2, I think there is something wrong with it.

Firstly, I think you want to filter your Dropdown 2 Items option based on the selected value within the Dropdown 1, is it right? Please modify your formula within the Items property of the Dropdown 2 box to following:

Distinct(
         Filter(
                WireLogBookV2, 
                Title = Dropdown1.SelectedText.Result   // Modify formula here
         ),
         UnitSerialNumber
)

Do you want to find the latest record for the selected Unit Serial Number value within the Dropdown 2 box? I think there is something wrong with the formula that you mentioned? Please consider modify the formula within the OnSelect property and OnChange property of the Dropdown 2 box (ComboBox):

Set(
     varRecord, 
     First(Sort(
          Filter(
                 WireLogBookV2, 
                 UnitSerialNumber = Dropdown2_1.SelectedText.Result
          ),
          ID,
          SortOrder.Descending
     ))
)

Note: Your issue is related to the LookUp formula you used in the OnChange property and OnSelect property of the Dropdown 2 box.

Please try above solution, then check if the issue is solved.

Thank you the fix did work, only now i have to highlight Drop Down 2  then go back and click it once again before data pulls and shows, how to just click on it and have the data populate without a second click?

Before the code correction when the DD2 was selected it automatically pulled the data in to the PA screen, now i have to click twice..
