SharePoint List Detail value does not match Edit value

Hi,

I am using a SharePoint List in a PowerApp.  The Detail Form is showing an old value of a People Field.  The Edit Form is showing the correct value.  I saw a resolution here:

to use a LookUp(Overzicht, ID = BrowseGallery1.Selected.ID )

My field is a person field where I am using DisplayMode.View

It currently has Choices('datasource', fieldname)

Does anyone know how to change the field to work?

ok, I think I may have figured it out

LookUp(Choices('datasource'.fieldname), ID=BrowseGallery1.Selected.ID)

Do I need to do a LookUp on all of the fields I am displaying in the detail form?

I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. Within my Detail Form (Display form), set the DataSource property to following:

'YourSPList'

Set the Item proeprty of the Display form to following:

BrowseGallery1.Selected

Then the Person field would be populated automatically based on the selected item within my Gallery.

I think it is not necessary to do a LookUp on all of fields within your Detail Form. In addition, please consider take a try to re-create a new Display form within your app, then set the DataSource property to following:

'YourSPList'

Set the Item proeprty of the Display form to following:

BrowseGallery1.Selected

 check if the Person field populated well automatically.

Hi Kris,

I used the Sharepoint Phone Layout template for my PowerApp.  

The datasource and item properties in Detail and Edit forms are set as you descibed they should be set.

The PSpecialist items is set to Choices('Input Tracker'.PSpecialist)

The BrowseGallery Items is this:

SortByColumns(Filter('Input Tracker', StartsWith(Status, "WF11-")), "HID", If(SortDescending1, Descending, Ascending))

There are only a 26 items in the list.  4 items are being filtered in this powerapp

It does not happen consistently. What appears to be happening it that if I refresh and select an item, it works properly.  The 2nd item I select appears to pull the previous items pspecialist into the Detail screen.

Here's an example in the order that I viewed the 4 items.

Item  List value PowerApp

XXX     Me           Me appears correctly in both Detail and Edit

DRE     Ad            Me appears in Detail Ad in Edit

ND1    Ad            Me appears in Detail Ad in Edit

ND9    Ad            Me appears in Detail Ad in Edit

Attaching screen shots of the PSpecialist not matching.  

When I play the forms inside PowerApps Studio it works fine.

Is the issue only occurred with the PSpecialist field in your Detail Form?

Currently, I could not reproduce your issue on my side. If the issue only occurs with your PSpecialist field in the Detail Form, I agree with your thought almost, I think the LookUp function could achieve your needs.

Please consider take a try to turn off/disable the "Improved app rendeting (final validation)" option within Advanced setting of App settings of your app, then re-publish your app, check if the issue is solved.

If the issue still exists, please consider take a try to re-create an app based on your SP list, then check if the issue still exists.

Hi Kris,

Yes.  The issue only occurs with the PSpecialist field in the Deatil Form.

I disabled the imporved app rendering and republished but the issue is not resolved.

I have other PowerApps on the same list and they have the same issue.

I thought I had Items working with this but I have an error:

LookUp(Choices('Input Tracker'.PSpecialist),ID=BrowseGallery1.Selected.ID)

The error is invalid argument type (Record) expecting a Table value instead

I have been searching for a fix to the error and cannot find one.
