Sharepoint List with Power Apps combobox

I've been reading and found multiple post on this but have not figured out how to make this work.

I have 2 List.

1 - Lookup

2 - Requests.

I've created a custom Power Apps form for on the request list.  I've replaced the Office text field with a Combo Box who pulling the information from the Lookup table, which I got working and it does update the office text field correctly.

My issue is when I reopen the form to edit an item, the Combo Box is blank and needs to be re-entered again in order to submit as I have that field required.

I can I make it so that the combo box opens up

Have you updated the "Default" property of your ComboBox with the desired value of your record?

The DefaultSelectedItems of your Combo Box needs to be

{Value: ThisItem.Office}

assuming Office is the name of the Text field and the Items of the Combo Box are the Lookup field choices.

Thank you, now I'm able to see the Office as the default selected item but if I try to modify the form and click save it tells me that Office ID is required although it's already displayed.

If you are writing back to a Text field (a very good idea), then the Update of the Data Card should simply be

YourComboBoxName.Selected.Value

Hi,

The update is there and does update the text box when I enter a new entry.  The issue is when I go to Edit an existing entry, I do the the previously selected item but when I go to save it says that it's required and I need to reselect again.

I am not exactly sure what I am looking at there, but the DefaultSelectedItems should take care of that if you are simply writing the Value (text) portion back to the text field in the list. Are you saying you can see the value in the box, but it is not writing back ?

Sorry, I will try to be clearer.

What works:  I can created a new entry, the combobox works and does update the Office ID text field as it should. When we edit the entry, we do see the correct value show up on the form.

My issue is when we edit the entry,  as mentioned above we do see what we had selected previously but when we go to save, it says that Office is required and we have to then reselect it from the combobox in order to save it.

Hi @Michel_Belanger ,

That is rather weird. As an experiment, take away the requirement for the field to be submitted and see if it submits the correct value again.
