Sorting Dropdown Choices (Person or Group Column) Alphabetically

Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with sorting the choices in a dropdown control within my Power App. The dropdown is connected to a SharePoint list called "PPS_Certification," and its items are populated from a Person or Group column named "Name."

Current Code:

The Items property of my dropdown is currently set to this formula:

Choices([@PPS_Certification].Name)

Problem:

The dropdown choices are not displayed in alphabetical order. I want the names to appear in ascending alphabetical order to make it easier for users to find the correct person.

What I've Tried:

I've attempted to use the SortByColumns function within the Items property, but it seems that it's not working as expected because of the Person or Group column type.

@SeifAltamimi - one example:

DropColumns(
    Sort(
        AddColumns(
            Choices([@PPS_Certification].Name),
            TextDisplayName,
            Text(DisplayName)
        ),
        TextDisplayName,
        SortOrder.Ascending
    ),
    TextDisplayName
)

The reason we use DropColumns here is to preserve the original table schema of that Choice data type (a SharePoint Choice field returns a Table). This will be required in case the ComboBox is bound to a DataCard in an EditForm control.

Please note it is not delegable to sort on a Choice data type with SharePoint. In addition, the AddColumns and DropColumns functions are not delegable with any data source.

Hey Amik, Your solution worked for the most part but in the dropdown DisplayFields, when I try to include Picture as well 

["DisplayName","Picture"]

For some reason, I see the display name fine in the drop down but instead of a picture its a link.

here is a screenshot of 1 record, I crossed the names out but essentially that's it



Could this be fixed?

Not to jump im on @Amik  but he answered perfectly what you asked for. So you should Mark his answer as the Answer.

Now you have a second request, are you trying to add the Picture to a ComboBox???? And yes it will give you the Text, because its a Text Control.

Yes Of course, I did not mean to withhold the solution badge to him.
And Yes, I am trying to add the picture to the combo box, previously in my old code, it would show the name and picture of the people that were in the options, I am simply curious if I could add the picture back or not

@SeifAltamimi - not an issue I am seeing in my environment but I do often have to "re-select" an attribute I need whenever I change the schema of the ComboBox items (even if that attribute has already been selected).

Try reselecting Picture again and see if that resolves the problem.
