Hi,
Is it possible to save multiple Checkbox values to a single Sharepoint column using a collection and then load the values back into the the checkboxes when list item is selected in the gallery (can be via a save/load buttons).
I have many many questions so was wanting to try using collections rather than have 1 column per question.
Ie:- I have 8 columns in the Sharepoint list which will hold up to 10 checkbox values.
To Save the checkbox values I am doing this:
ClearCollect(Collection,
{Checkboxes: Checkbox1_Value},
{Checkboxes: Checkbox2_.Value},
{Checkboxes: Checkbox3_.Value},
{Checkboxes: Checkbox4_.Value}
)
Then to patch in column in SPlist:
ForAll(Collection,Patch(‘SharepointList,Gallery.Selected,{Collection:Checkboxes}))
However this seems to only save 1 entry into the column?
And then when returning to the selected item in the gallery I am unsure how to load the values back into the checkboxes so users can see which boxes they checked.
Thank you!

Hi @CautiousUser99 ,
You can do it, but you need to understand a bit of what I have posted to make it work the way you want. Firstly assuming your field name is Checkboxes, the Patch would be something like this - you can use whatever delimiter you want - I have used a pipe |
With(
{
_Data:
Table(
{Value: Checkbox1_.Value},
{Value: Checkbox2_.Value},
{Value: Checkbox3_.Value},
{Value: Checkbox4_.Value}
)
},
Patch(
SharepointList,
{
ID: Gallery.Selected.ID,
Checkboxes:
Concat(
_Data,
Value,
"|"
)
}
)
)
Your SharePoint field will then look something like this
true|false|true|false
Now the tricky part is getting the value back into the checkboxes - You need to increase the Index number (1,2,3,4) for the four checkboxes - the Default of first one is below. I am assuming here that the checkboxes are in the Gallery.
Index(
Split(
ThisItem.Checkboxes,
"|"
),
1
).Value = "true"

Well a few things.
1. you are just overwriting your collections column value with what you are doing. You cannot simply set it to another checkvalue and it keeps them all.
2. If you wanted the collection to keep them all, you need 4 differently named CheckBox Columns CheckBox1, 2 3 4 etc
3. You unfortunately need to treat them as separate columns and just life if you had 10 text fields, because while you can batch patch, what you are doing isn't that. So you gotta do
Patch(Source, Record
{
CheckBoxValue1: XXX,
CheckBoxValue2: YYY etc
}
If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others
Cheers
