Hi all,
I have this scenario:
I have a combobox with the values of account name.
When selecting an account name, the second combobox automatically filters the numbers corresponding to the account I selected.
The problem is when I submit, it doesn't register all the lines in the sharepoint list. And when I had to test, combobox 2 is not possible to get all the values I have to select all. but I don't even need to select, I just want those values to all be recorded in the sharepoint list.
Can someone help,please ?

Hi @Anonymous ,
I am in a different timezone to you - it is early Tuesday morning here. We have already spent considerable time on this (and solved the first problem) and almost have this one solved.
I believed from your description provided to date that all you need to do is get is a single value (that is why I used AddColumns) to populate every item with the account name belonging to the account numbers chosen - is this correct? If so, all you have to do in the AddColumns syntax is get that value - this will add the value to every column in the list where you already have the account number. You could turn off the Multi-Select as below and see if formula works (strangely I have it working on a test app with multiple selections).
From what I can see now, you want to select multiple accounts and have the names of these populated. If so, the solution is complex and will head in another direction.
Hi @WarrenBelz ,
No problem, it's almost midnight here.
What I want is:
- The user can select multiple accounts name. These accounts name have associated numbers.
In the case that I gave, I selected two account names (it could be 3 or 4, or a thousand, for example)
In the example I gave, I selected two accounts where a first account had a number. And the second account had 42 numbers.
That is why the first combobox must be multiselection, because the user will select multiple accounts name, and those accounts name can have more than one number.
This formula that we built is almost right, because it is able to fetch all the numbers of the selected account names, but it is only fetching an account name in the "Account Name" column, where all selected account names should appear.
Hi @Anonymous ,
I think I have it, but after exploring all sorts of complex data gathering, the answer it seems may be further back.
I have just got test app fields going as below. The collection is under it
- using your field names - DropDown2 - Items - do not specify a field
Filter(
[@PowerBIIntegration].Data;
outlet_name in Dropdown1.SelectedItems
)
I then collected as you do, but in the OnChange property of ComboBox2
ClearCollect(
mycol,
ComboBox2.SelectedItems
)
When I looked at the collection, it had both fields (in fact all fields) in it as the second ComboBox did not specify a field - you do that over in Edit >Date >Single choice the Primary Text under it.
You can then Patch the collection as it has all the data.

Hi @WarrenBelz ,
So basically, this is my scenario:
- Account Name (Outlet_name): - Combobox1 with all accounts names:
- Combobox 1 Items (ps: I needed to do it distinct, because as there are accounts name with more than one number it is repeated in the combobox, and that is the reason for the distinct:
Distinct(
[@PowerBIIntegration].Data;
outlet_name
)
- Sold_to (numbers): Combobox2 with all numbers:
- Combobox2 Items (ps: Here you will filter the accounts name you select by the numbers. And it is not visible in the app):
Filter(
[@PowerBIIntegration].Data;
outlet_name in [@PowerBIIntegration].Data.outlet_name;
outlet_name in ComboBox1.SelectedItems.Result
)
- Combobox2 OnChange:
ClearCollect(
mycol;
ComboBox2.SelectedItems
)
- Submit Button: Button Items:
ForAll(
mycol;
Patch(
Churn_delete_users;
Defaults(Churn_delete_users);
{
Outlet_name: ComboBox1.Selected.Result;
Sold_to: mycol[@sold_to]
}
)
)
This is it ?
Kind regards
@Anonymous ,
Yes provided your data structure gets the same results. Have you tested it?
I can give you the exact code I used to get this working on the test data (actually a data set from a Microsoft App in a Day session I did some time back).

@WarrenBelz
WE DID IT, FINALLY 😁.
I just removed the code that was in combobox2 on OnChange and put it like this in the submit code:
ClearCollect(
mycol;
ComboBox2.SelectedItems
)
;;ForAll(
mycol;
Patch(
Churn_delete_users;
Defaults(Churn_delete_users);
{
Outlet_name: mycol[@outlet_name];
Sold_to: mycol[@sold_to]
}
)
)
Thank you very much for your knowledge, and thank you for your patience. It was a privilege for me to discuss powerapps with you and I learned a lot. Without your tips it wouldn't be possible, thanks again !
Thanks @Anonymous ,
It has been a bit of a journey for both of us. My reference to the OnChange property was only to explain how my model was working straight away.
You might also consider Accept as Solution on my post for you first problem getting the combo boxes working. This will tag it as a subject for others to more easily find.
