Switch between forms if datacardvalue text is changed

Hello, I have an application with two differents forms with 2 differents Sharepoint lists. They have values in common. 

So I must be able to switch between these forms if I change one datacardvalue and to keep all equal values.

Is that a way to do that?

Using a variable that is possible. You'll need to add a formula to set the variable in the same property where the form switching takes place. The Default properties of the datacardvalues in the fields you wish to keep will need to be updated to take the value from the variable:

Coalesce(VariableName.ColumnName, Parent.Default)

Two other things that need to be done to make this work is to reset the forms on every switch and to clear the variable in the OnSuccess property of each form and any Cancel buttons so there is no interference between items.

This seems indeed be the formula that controls the switching between forms.

To clarify, should users also be able to switch back to the first form from the second form? And is this to create new items, edit items or both?

Yes, they supposed to be able to switch back. Everytime they switch to the second form, the extra fields should appears to add it. If they switch to the first form, the extra fields should disappears.

But for the both cases, they should keep the same text for the common datacards and allow the edition. 

The problem with this formula is when I navigate to the second form, I can't see the form, just the other screen

In that case you will need something to the formula you posted earlier to save the values as entered in the form in a variable:

      FieldName1: DataCardValue.Text,
      FieldName2: DataCardValue.SelectedDate,
      FieldName3: DataCardValue.Selected,
      FieldName4: DaraCardValue.SelectedItems
   }
)

The FiledNames should be replace with the actual names of the fields and the DataCardValues should be matched against the name of the DataCardValue in the field. Depending on the type of column you will need to select different properties, which are listed above (.Text, .SelectedDate, etc.). This example shows 4 fields, but you may need to add more, using the same pattern.

To get the DataCardValues in the both forms to take the value as saved in the variable, the Default, DefaultDate, or DefaultSelected (depending on the type of column), will need to be set to:

Coalesce(varValues.FieldName1, Parent.Default)

Again the FieldName1 will need to be replaced with the actual name of the field to get the right match with the contents of the variable.

WIth the above the functionality should be in place, but after submitting a form and then using the same form to, for instance, create a new item will cause an issue since the form will be populating with the values from the variable. To get rid of that, set the OnSuccess property of both forms to:

   Blank()
)

This will set the variable to blank so it basically stops influencing the values in the forms. If you have a Cancel or Back button where the users is supposed to lose their progress, you need to add this formula to the Onselect property of that too.
