Timer control & PDF File

Hello!

I have been asked to build a form that has a required time limit for each page of a PDF file - the time limit would be 1 minute per page.

I've setup my app as below with the PDF Viewer control and the Timer control, with Next and Previous buttons.

The PDF file will contain 53 pages and I'm wondering if there's any neat tricks here to get this working without making the app too complex.

The user should be able to view one page per minute and is not allowed to skip pages until the minute is up and the 'Next' button becomes visible to select.

What approach would you suggest  for this?

I've thought about somehow having one screen with the PDF file and the button cycling through the pages available when each minute is up - just not sure how to go about this.

Otherwise, I thought about creating 53 duplicate screens and setting the required page on each screen with the timer and button allowing user to navigate to next screen when ready.

Would appreciate any guidance on this one! 🙂

Hi sudosaurus  ,

With little experiment, I discovered that when you set the PDF viewer DisplayMode property to Disabled, you can prevent user from interact with the PDFviewer control, however you can still change the page number if you assign the PDFviewer's Page property to a variable and update it with button OnSelect.

The drawback for this approach is that you should hide the built-in control and implement the pdf's find and zoom control yourself with Zoom, SearchText property if you still want users to have these capabilities.

I tried adding this to the button OnSelect:

PdfViewer1.Page=2

 However, nothing changes?

To make the page change, you must create a variable and hook it up to the PDF's page property. You cannot set it directly.

You have to manage the value yourself but you can use ultilize the pageCount Property for that. For example:
