Transfer settings to view form from New form

Hi @WarrenBelz

Another issue I'm having is that the view form isn't displaying the datacards based on the value of another datacard in the edit form. If you cast your mind back you kindly helped me put this together in the edit form, which still works. Thank you!  Unfortunately the configuration doesn't transfer to the view form when reviewing list items, (the view form has the same set up as it was duplicated from the original) so when looking at the list item only half of the data is displayed.

In case its all a bit grey, Ive put the setup below 🙂

Datacard 10 is set to: UpdateContext({vQty:Value(DataCardValue10.Text)})

The OnVisible of the Screen is set to: UpdateContext({vQty:0})

There are 12 product lines which appear pending the value (1-12) is entered.

Again, this works in the edit form but doesn't seem to get transferred.

Note: Under one list I now have 3 forms, two of them were duplicated from the original. They are for the displaying purposes of New, Edit and View modes. Is this right?  Im going by what I have found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaCTT7bPuQg&list=PLMLjnY5iPR3Xa8WrL2nRqVO0CWZkZpYPh&index=2

Happy to post screen shots etc.

Thanks again

Hi @WarrenBelz

Please find attached the 3 screenshots of the different forms. I was hoping this would be a bit more straight forward.

110 being Edit, 109 being View and 108 being New. Obviously the screenshots only show how the form is when initially making a new entry.

All screens are definitely identical as they were duplicated from one.

Thanks again and speak soon

Hi @MiniMe83 ,

None of these screen have the fields you say are missing. Where did you get the view with these fields?MM83Hidden.PNG

Hi @WarrenBelz

Take a look at the attached screenshot, hopefully that will explain more....

Hi @WarrenBelz

Further to my previous reply, please find the setup for most of the form / list.

Thanks

Thanks @MiniMe83 ,

I cannot open your Word document, but this is the information we needed right from the start to solve the matter. You showed me a screen, but no logic as to why it was different from the other version. I was trying to guess all sorts of things from wrong screens to multiple forms and mentioned previously control visibility. So do you know why they are not appearing or are they not appearing as per your criteria above. If so, what is the code on Visible of these controls.

Hi @WarrenBelz

Ive attached a PDF file with the same information as the word document, hopefully this will give you everything you need, please let me know what files you can open if this doesn't work.

Thanks

Hi @WarrenBelz

They appear fine when creating an entry, they are not shown when reviewing a saved entry to the list. Hopefully the PDF I attached previously will shed more light.

The green box is set to "UpdateContext({vQty:Value(qtyReq.Text)})

The cascading lines are set to vQty>0, vQty>1, vQty>2 etc

@MiniMe83 ,

The information in the PDF is irrelevant - it has taken us 36 messages (18 each) for you actually to tell me what the issue is - vQty has to be set to a value that will display the fields you want to see.

How do your expect these fields to be displayed when this value is set from the input of a field on the screen? Can you please now take a bit of a step back from this and think about the process opening this screen and what values you expect to see in the green box and also how and when vQty is set.

Hi @WarrenBelz

I’m not sure what you mean?

“vQty has to be set to a value that will display the fields you want to see” ..... this value should be the number entered by the user when saved.

I would like the fields to be displayed as they are when submitting a new entry, just replicated in view but as a non editable version.

“How do you expect these fields to be displayed when this value is set from the input of a field on the screen?“ I haven’t a clue, that’s why I’m asking for help.

The value I expect to see in the green box is the value the user enters.

HI @MiniMe83 ,

My point was to emphasize to you that all this time has been taken to actually ask the right questions as the reason you cannot see the items  - it is all to do with vQty, a value that has only been mentioned in your last post. Do you now see the importance of actually describing the issue properly?

So how and when is vQty set? You have said that the "cascading" controls are reliant on vQty being set to a value, but you then said that it relies on a value being put in the "green box", so is it set on the OnChange of this control? If so, the fields cannot possibly be visible until the value is changed.
