Hi,
I have a gallery with items in which I have included an update button so that items can be updated and saved back into the gallery.
In every item there is an email adress picked from a combobox (office365 users). When I click on the item to update it, the editform is prepopulated with data but not the combobox.
I am trying to change the defaultselecteditem but nothing worked so far
What I would like is to have the default value from the item but still to have the possiblity to use the combobox/searchfield to change the value.
Can you help ?
Thanks
Hi @AQ_QA ,
Is the problem that after the Combo Box in the gallery updates Office365User, the data is not synchronized to the Edit Form? Maybe you can tell me what your data source is, and how you set up the Items of the two Combobox and Edit Form. It would be better if you could attach some screenshots of your errors.
Best regards,
Rimmon Li
Thank you for your message
So step one : request are submitted - it contains multiple field including a combobox with office365user email address
Data are stored in a sharepoint list (column type = single line of text)
Then I have a gallery with all my items and I have included the ability to update the request (pen)
When I click on it all my fields are prepopulated with the data except the combobox field (there is an error here due to me trying to fill the defaultselecteditem but besides that I do not have any error just a blank field)
I think that there is something to do with the defaultselecteditem and my guess if that power app doesn't understand that the value is an email address
Hi @AQ_QA ,
When setting the DefaultSelectedItems of the Combo box, the data type should be a record, if you set 'ThisItem.ColumnName', of course there will be an error, because your column is only a text column, and 'ThisItem.ColumnName' is returned as a value. The correct thing to do is to take this value to find records that match the criteria in Combo box's Items. You can refer to the following code:
I assume the items of your combo box:
Distinct(List,ColumnName)
Please set the DefaultSelectedItems of Combo box:
LookUp(Distinct(List,ColumnName),Value=ThisItem.ColumnName)
Hope this helps you!

Hi
Thank you for your help
The value is visible in the combobox but I think it doesn't take it as a value of the combobox
I have a simple data validation checkbadge that is supposed to appear when the combobox is filled with a value and I can not see it with the defaultselecteditem in it.
If I change the value in the combobox my check badge appears.
How can I fix that ?
Hi @AQ_QA ,
Combobox takes the default option as a value, I think this is because you have re-selected the options in ComboBox, so the default selected Items disappears. I suggest that you clear the options and cut the code of the DefaultSelectedItems and re-paste it.
Best regards,
Rimmon Li
Hi
Sorry I do not follow.
I have tried to cut and paste the defaultselecteditems and I do not see any changes
My items list is like this :
I have tried to do the same thing as you did and I get "false" if I put "selected.Mail"
I tried with : !IsBlank(ComboBox1_1.SelectedItems) and also with !IsBlank(ComboBox1_1.Selected) => true
I think the combobox knows there is a value but not an Mail value. What do you think ?
