Update field after Submit

I have a Power App with two attached SharePoint lists:  Auction Items and Bids.   The Bids list has a lookup to the Auction Item (Title) field and the ID field in the Auction Items list.  Upon successful submit of the Submit Bid Form to the Bids list, I would like to update the Current Bid field in the Auction Items list to be the value of the Bid Amount field on the Bids list.  I have struggled with finding the correct formula to use.  I have tried adding the following formula to the OnSuccess property of the Submit Bid Form unsuccessfully:

Patch ('Auction Items', EditForm.LastSubmit, {Current Bid: Bid Amount})

Am I way off track with the formula?

How to you relate the 'Bid Amount' in the Bids list to the current item. Assuming you have a "link field", you would do something like this

Patch(
   'Auction Items', 
   {ID:Self.LastSubmit.ID}, 
   {
      'Current Bid': 
      Lookup(
         Bids,
         BidsLinkFieldName=Self.LastSubmit.LinkFieldName
      ).'Bid Amount'
   }
)

Or if you get a Delegation warning on this, you might try

With(
   {
      wBid:
      Lookup(
         Bids,
         BidsLinkFieldName=Self.LastSubmit.LinkFieldName
      ).'Bid Amount'
   },
   Patch(
      'Auction Items', 
      {ID:Self.LastSubmit.ID},

I apologize, got a tad behind with the holiday break.   I tried both scenarios you listed and for both I get the following error:

Invalid Argument Type.

Following is what I tried:

Patch('Auction Items', {ID:Self.LastSubmit.'AuctionItem:ID'}, {'Current Bid':Lookup(Bids,'Auction Item'=Self.LastSubmit.'Auction Item').'BidAmount'})

With({wBid:Lookup(Bids,'Auction Item'=Self.LastSubmit.'Auction Item').'Bid Amount'},Patch('Auction items',{ID:Self.LastSubmit.'AuctionItem:ID'},{'Current Bid':wBid}))

I also tried just using {ID:Self.LastSubmit.ID} for both as well.

My PowerApp has both SharePoint lists attached as data sources:  Auction Items and Bids.   There is a gallery of the Auction Items list and when a user selects an item, it opens the details screen for the item. That details screen has a Place Bid button.  The Place Bid button navigates to the PlaceBidForm attached to the Bids list.  The Bids list has a lookup to the Auction Item field on the Auction Items list and when they choose the Auction Item from the initial gallery, it populates a choice field on the PlaceBidForm.  Once a user submits the PlaceBidForm, it creates a new item in the Bids list successfully, but we need to take the Bid Amount field submitted to the Bids list and update the Current Bid field on the Auction Items list.

The fundamental issue is that you need to find the matching Auction Item with the link field you have just provided.

Also as You have just submitted the BidAmount, you do not need to find it, so

Patch(
   'Auction items',
   {'Auction Item':Self.LastSubmit.'Auction Item'},
   {'Current Bid':Self.LastSubmit.BidAmount}
)

Hi Warren,

Using this formula:

Patch('Auction Items',{'Auction Item':Self.LastSubmit.'Auction Item'},{'Current Bid':Self.LastSubmit.BidAmount})

I am now receiving the following error:

Issue

The type of this argument 'Title' does not match the expected type 'Text'.  Found type 'Record'

Note:  the Auction Item field was formerly the Title field

Now we are getting complex - what type of field is Title/'Auction Item'?

If it is a multi-choice column/Lookup, you cannot match on that easily please confirm this.

The Title/'Auction Item' field is a text field - it was the original Title field in the Auction Items list that was renamed to 'Auction Item'.

I think the issue is the Bids list has a lookup to the Title ('Auction Item') field in the Auction Items list.

On the PlaceBidForm in the PowerApp, I have that lookup field displayed as a choice dropdown.

I can't seem to figure out how to reference that chosen Auction Item that is displayed in the choice field on the Last Submit PlaceBidForm.

Firstly, the code probably should be something like

Patch(
   'Auction Items',
   {Auction_x0020_Item:Self.LastSubmit.Title},
   {Current_x0020_Bid:Self.LastSubmit.BidAmount}
)

but the error is saying something in there is a record. Can you please check the fields in both lists.
