Updating Data Source - Sharepoint List

Hello!

I have an app that searched a list of products, and allows the user to select a product to see a detail page. The data source is a Sharepoint list, and the issue I am experiencing is I have added new products to that Sharepoint list and they do not show up in the app. 

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or if I completely missed a step?

Hi Derek,

Data received from a Sharepoint List (Or any other) is not updated Automatically. You can get new Data by using the Refresh Function.

Personally I collect the List information to a Collection by running a Collect on the OnTimerEnd attribute of a hidden timer every 60 seconds.

If you are accessing the data directly then just have something like:

Refresh('Repair Forms Overview')

On the end of a timer, or on a refresh button if you prefer.

I had built in a refresh button, however even after refreshing the new item does not load into the app.

I like the idea of automatically refreshing every so often by attaching it to a timer, I will definitely explore that option after I figure out why the new products are not showing up even after manually updating the data source and/or using the refresh button.

Do you happen to have any other ideas?

How are you accessing the Data? Are you pointing a gallery directly at the sharepoint connector name, or are you using a collection to store the data first?

If you are using a collection you will need to Recollect the data as well as refreshing. If you are using the data directly then it might be worth Creating a new App, adding the sharepoint data source, attaching it to a gallery and seeing if a manual refresh picks up the new data. This will show if its a logic error with your app.

I've also known issues of sources not refreshing after turning on some of the experimental options, so that may be worth a look if the new App idea works correctly.
