Hi experts, Can you help me to figure out what am I doing wrong in below: I am stuck on this for last 3 days and can't seem to get this working:
I have a gallery and I want to filter it on basis of few drop downs & a checkbox (if the value is true). I have the following formula which works fine:
Filter('Gallery', If(Not(Dropdown1.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown1.Selected.Result = Country, Not(Dropdown2.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown2.Selected.Result = Region, Not(Dropdown3.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown3.Selected.Result = Area) || If(Checkbox1.Value = true, Dropdown2.Selected.Result = 'Geo-Region'))
I am trying to add one && condition (in red below) so that if the chkboxpendingreview is ticked then the gallery only shows me the items where dropdown.value = pending review.
But it doesn't work. When I check the chkboxpendingreview then the gallery doesn't show anything even if I have items in it where the dropdown values are pending reviews. Can someone help me to figure out what am I doing wrong?
Filter('Gallery', If(Not(Dropdown1.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown1.Selected.Result = Country, Not(Dropdown2.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown2.Selected.Result = Region, Not(Dropdown3.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown3.Selected.Result = Area) && If(ChkBoxPendingReview.Value = true, dropdown.Value = "Pending Review") || If(Checkbox1.Value = true, Dropdown2.Selected.Result = 'Geo-Region'))
Hi @Sanranaji
Try
Filter(
'Gallery',
If(
Dropdown1.Selected.Result <> "- Select -" &&
Dropdown1.Selected.Result = Country &&
Dropdown2.Selected.Result <> "- Select -" &&
Dropdown2.Selected.Result = Region &&
Dropdown3.Selected.Result <> "- Select -" &&
Dropdown3.Selected.Result = Area &&
ChkBoxPendingReview.Value = true &&
(
dropdown.Value = "Pending Review" ||
Checkbox1.Value = true
),
Dropdown2.Selected.Result = 'Geo-Region'
)
)

Hi @Sanranaji ,
Could you please share more about the logic?
If priority of chkboxpendingreview is higher, please try this:
Filter(If(ChkBoxPendingReview.Value = true, Filter('Gallery', dropdown.Value = "Pending Review"),'Gallery'), If(Not(Dropdown1.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown1.Selected.Result = Country, Not(Dropdown2.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown2.Selected.Result = Region, Not(Dropdown3.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown3.Selected.Result = Area) || If(Checkbox1.Value = true, Dropdown2.Selected.Result = 'Geo-Region'))

I am sorry Warren. This didn't work. I was't getting the expected result.
Amazing. I just lifted you code as it is and put it in the application and it worked perfectly. Thank you very-very much @v-siky-msft .
One other question - If I have one other dropdown on the basis of which I need to further filter the gallery then what would be the best & optimized formula to be used? Do I need to add another Filter on top of what you already provided? The end result need to meet 4 conditions.
Show items where (Dropdown1.value="Test1" && Dropdown2.value="Test2" && Dropdown3.value="Test3") || If the item is in Dropdown4.value="Test4"
Hi @Sanranaji ,
If you tell me your logic (I was guessing a bit), it should be easy to write.
You just need to keep the Or /|| in brackets.
Hi @Sanranaji
I am not sure about the conditions, could you share more detailed information?
You mean that the first three drop-down conditions have to be met at the same time, or that only the drop-down 4 conditions have to be met, right?
If so, please try this:
Filter(If(ChkBoxPendingReview.Value = true, Filter('Gallery', dropdown.Value = "Pending Review"),'Gallery'),
(If(Not(Dropdown1.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown1.Selected.Result = Country) &&
If(Not(Dropdown2.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown2.Selected.Result = Region) &&
If(Not(Dropdown3.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown3.Selected.Result = Area)) ||
If(Not(Dropdown4.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown4.Selected.Result = <something>) // modify here
||
If(Checkbox1.Value = true, Dropdown2.Selected.Result = 'Geo-Region'))
If this doesn't work, please share more details.

Thank you @v-siky-msft. I tried putting "&&" condition but it doesn't work as expected. I have the code as below:
Filter(If(ChkBoxPendingReview.Value = true, Filter('Gallery', dropdown.Value = "Pending Review"),'Gallery'),
(If(Not(Dropdown1.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown1.Selected.Result = Country),
If(Not(Dropdown2.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown2.Selected.Result = Region),
If(Not(Dropdown3.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown3.Selected.Result = Area) &&
If(Not(Dropdown4.Selected.Result = "- Select -"), Dropdown4.Selected.Result = SSL.Value) ||
If(Checkbox1.Value = true, Dropdown2.Selected.Result = 'Geo-Region')))
On the Filter condition -
-the first check is on Country. If that matches then it should skip Region & Area checks & move forward to SSL.Value check.
-If the Country condition doesn't match then it will go to Region condition. If Region condition matches then it should skip Area and should move forward to SSL check.
- If Region condition also doesn't match then it should go to Area check.
- Same for SSL check. If the SSL check doesn't match then I should get the results where DropDown4.selected.result = SSL.Value.
The last condition is OR condition for Geo-Region which works fine in the code.
Also note that you had two closing brackets after "Area))" word and two closing brackets after "Geo-Region))" in your code.
I tried but it doesn't work that way. In my code I have 1 closing bracket after "Area)" word and three closing brackets after "Geo-Region)))". I thought it would be good to highlight that also.
Sorry for not giving enough details @WarrenBelz. I have provided more details in response to Sik solution.
Hi @Sanranaji ,
We are both working with the same logic - I will have another go (I tend to use <> instead of Not , but went with Not below).
I also have used && instead of commas (which are also valid for And) as it makes large filters easier to logically parse.
Filter(
'Gallery'
If(
ChkBoxPendingReview.Value = true,
dropdown.Value = "Pending Review",
Not(Dropdown1.Selected.Result = "- Select -") &&
Dropdown1.Selected.Result = Country &&
Not(Dropdown2.Selected.Result = "- Select -") &&
Dropdown2.Selected.Result = Region &&
Not(Dropdown3.Selected.Result = "- Select -") &&
Dropdown3.Selected.Result = Area) &&
Not(Dropdown4.Selected.Result = "- Select -") &&
(Dropdown4.Selected.Result = SSL.Value ||
Checkbox1.Value = true),
Dropdown2.Selected.Result = 'Geo-Region'
)
)
