Using Gallery to write Multiple Options on Form (instead of combobox?)

Hello,

I'm new to using PowerApps and I am currently struggling to find a way to make this work. I've looked through several articles but haven't had anything get me in the right direction other than using a gallery.

I am creating a form but would like to use Images in place of the drop down combo box to select multiple choices. 

Example:

In App: User enters First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number, and then selects one or all options on the choice card. 1-2-3

On SharePoint List: Data get entered into First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number, and then shows which of the three choices in the Choices column that were selected by user.

Hopefully this all makes sense and SOMEONE out there can help me!!

What I do NOT want is for the images to be uploaded to the SharePoint list. If there is a way to assign each image a value to pass to the Choices column, that is the end goal. 

Images = text value (or whatever value the Choices column takes)

the sidebar only ever shows you the /layout/ for a gallery not each item, the individual records only show in the gallery itself, think of sidebar as a template.

click app, run onstart, then click an image, and then send me a screenshot of whats in your valPass collection

Let me know if this works a little better. I will note I used Alt+Click to select the image after clicking App > Run OnStart

I'm not sure where to go to view the valPass collection as you stated.

reset (run onstart) then click an image one time (so we know it should be in collection) and then click this

that will open your collections page, click on valPass and see if your item is there (the option name should be there in a column titled Value) like this

I've watched it a few times now and do not see any errors.

Judging by original screenshot of your sharepoint list you already

======try these 2 if not====

1) have allowed multiple selections turned on,

2) and maybe just for safety also turn on allow user to make a custom selection.

if it still does not work after the two steps above odds are form just glitched out, forms do this on occasion and there's no real indication as to why, but they can usually be fixed by one of 3 things,

1. Save close and reload.

2. remove the datacard that's giving you trouble and readd.

3. make a new form, same as the first, and try submitting it (this one is usually the fix when everything is coded right but it isn't behaving right)

I found my issue..... the gallery's display mode was set to view instead of edit. 

Now I'm showing everything working properly.
