Validating SP list against another button

Hi all.

I have an interesting problem to solve. 

I have two SP lists.

- List 1 - employment data (name, email, etc).

- List 2 - acknowledgement data

We have an app that the department uses that collects employment acknowledgements for a specific annual activity (due to compliance).

I have been asked to build a validation tool to make this easier for the team that have to maintain this. Essentially, I am trying to build:

- A single screen

- Gallery 1 is connected to List 1 and shows employee names

- Gallery 2 is connected to List 2 and shows names and date of acknowledgement.

Is there a way to code the boarder colour of gallery 1 to make the employee detail red until the corresponding name is validated and checked off in list 2 (and appears in gallery 2)?

From here I would like to also build a workflow tool to push "follow ups" to the outstanding users, so i think this formula might help act as a baseline for further automation.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi @DGWolfe ,

If you put this as the Color of the Label containing the name (I have assumed a field name of Employee) in Gallery1

      LookUp(
         Gallery2.AllItems,
         Employee = Self.Text
      )
   ),
   Red,
   Black
)
