Values from custom connector gets blank on edit and view mode.

Hi All, 

I've created a PowerApps Form where I am storing data from a custom connector using collection. So I'm able to fetch data from connector and able to submit it in SharePoint List, but the problem is after getting data from collection and submitting it in the SharePoint list, if I open that on edit and view mode it get's automatically blank, although I'm opening an already submitted form.

I'm using 'First(GetdataCustomConnector).property' -> where property is my property for that connector so using this I'm getting this data, and it does reflects on new mode but disappears on edit and view.

What could be the cause of this?

@Anonymous not sure I fully understand your scenario, but what is the datasource for your form and what's on the item property?

Hi @jatcube , datasource is SharePoint List for the form, and item property for SharePoint Form is,

If(IsBlank(SharePointIntegration.Selected) || IsEmpty(SharePointIntegration.Selected),SharePointForm1.LastSubmit,SharePointIntegration.Selected)

What control is SharePointIntegration? I assume a gallery, but then there's no point in checking if it's empty or blank as in a gallery there's always a selected item, so the form should return the selected item. If it's not a gallery, then that's the issue. The other thing is, the .selected needs to return the record in the same format as the source for the form, otherwise it won't work. and third, LastSubmit gets cleared if you reset the form control.

Hi @Anonymous,

Once you submit/Save the form, Save the last submit ID to the Variable. Set the variable OnSuccess property of the form

ClearCollect(LastSubmitID,SharePointForm1.LastSubmit.ID);

and then set the item property of the form based on the form mode using LookUp

LookUp(DataSource, ID = LastSubmitID)

Hi @StalinPonnusamy , as per your suggestion I tried doing this, but I am getting delegation error as,

Incompatible types of comparison, These types cannot be compared: Number, Table.

For item property formula on Form,

LookUp(DataSource, ID = LastSubmitID)

Hence it's not able to retrieve data too on form after Submit.

Hi @jatcube , yes you are correct I'm not using gallery, I'm using form, maybe I need to change some formula but what I'm bit confused😅.

Without knowing the specifics of your app, I can only give you a general answer as to how you might implement this..

Okay, so you have 3 properties on the form the Data source, DefaultMode and Item you need. The data and item needs to relate. The data can be any table, so an in app collection, SharePoint list, etc. Then you specify the record(item) you want the form to display in edit and view mode which can come from a gallery select or other filtered source. Now this can be your lastsubmit. Hope it's all clear so far?

DefaultMode you can set a condition say if lastsubmit is empty, do view. But then you need to clear lastsubmit(reset form) somewhere else, like a button when you want the user to be able to enter a new record.

Hope this helps, but if you get stuck somewher, give me some more specific info.

Hi, first can you help resolving my one query so basically while I'm submitting form so default behavior is Submit closes the form so I've removed RequestHide() from onsuccess of form, so I've to keep my form open after it get's submitted but it is showing me some different items data which is previously been submitted although I'm using SharePointform1.LastSubmit so what changes are required in the item property?
