Hi everyone,
I want to have a pop up which is visible when the isn't a match with the words as described in the formula below. And the pop up should disappear when the user hits the OnReset button, which activated the Set(VarPopup) to false. The formula is use in the visible element for the pop up is as follows:
!IsMatch(TxtMatchMapping.Text; ".*mapping.*|.*Mapping.*|^$") ||
!IsMatch(TxtMatchAudit.Text; ".*audit.*|.*Audit.*|^$") ||
!IsMatch(TxtMatchCamt.Text; ".*camt.*|.*Camt.*|^$");;
VarPopup
But it looks like it that I can add the VarPopup as a second element to this formula. I was wondering, is it possible to add the VarPopup to this, or is there another work around?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Is VarPopup defined elsewhere? If it's not, set it to be true somewhere else, such as on the screen load- if it's blank, power apps will assume it's false, and your popup won't show.
Let me know!
Hi!
This would be a good spot to use the && operator. You could do something like:
(
!IsMatch(TxtMatchMapping.Text; ".*mapping.*|.*Mapping.*|^$") ||
!IsMatch(TxtMatchAudit.Text; ".*audit.*|.*Audit.*|^$") ||
!IsMatch(TxtMatchCamt.Text; ".*camt.*|.*Camt.*|^$")
) &&
VarPopup
Just make sure, when using a more complex function like this in a the visible property, that the variables are reset properly afterwards. Otherwise it might not display properly a second time, if the variable is still set to false later on.
Hope this helps!
Hi @madlad ,
Thanks! That is already helpful. However, the VarPopup should be able to overrule the first formula. The pop up appears when there is no match, to make the user aware (visiblity of that pop up becomes true). The pop up should be able to exit by clicking on the (On Reset) button, which activates the VarPopup, and sets its visibility back to false. Is this possible?
Yep!
When the user clicks OnReset, the button's onselect property should include:
Set(varPopup, false)
As long as varPopup is false, the popup will not be visible.
Let me know how it goes!
Currently, I am using an Icon, where the user can click on to activate the VarPopup. And for an Icon, you've the OnSelect function, and not OnReset. Is this the reason why it isn't working yet? Because furthermore, I implemented the steps
In my most recent reply, I accidentally used "varPopup", instead of "VarPopup". Could you change this and check once more?
Just to confirm:
In the OnSelect property of your icon, you have:
Set(VarPopup, false)
and in the popup's visibility, you have:
(
!IsMatch(TxtMatchMapping.Text; ".*mapping.*|.*Mapping.*|^$") ||
!IsMatch(TxtMatchAudit.Text; ".*audit.*|.*Audit.*|^$") ||
!IsMatch(TxtMatchCamt.Text; ".*camt.*|.*Camt.*|^$")
) &&
VarPopup
If this doesn't work, could you send a screenshot of your popup, some of the code involved? Something else may be interfereing.
Let me know!
Hahah, I didn't even notice, and that wasn't the issue.
The code for my label for visibility is as follows:
!IsMatch(TxtMatchMapping.Text; ".*mapping.*|.*Mapping.*|^$") ||
!IsMatch(TxtMatchAudit.Text; ".*audit.*|.*Audit.*|^$") ||
!IsMatch(TxtMatchCamt.Text; ".*camt.*|.*Camt.*|.*CAMT.*|^$") && VarPopup
At this moment, the label isn't showing up. So the default for Visible is false, before I click on the button.
I also tried Or instead of &&; then the label is showing up, but when I click on the Icon, nothing changes. So then the default for Visibile is and stays true.
For the Icon, I have in OnSelect this formula: Set(VarPopup; false)
I hope this helps you to understand it even better. Otherwise, I can send screenshots of course.
