Hi Guys,
As per my other posts.. new to this and just got a bit stuck on another little issue.
Attached is a look at the rough main edit page of an app im trying to build. It will incorporate 7/8 forms eventually (the buttons at the top).. and some of those have to contain hundred of data cards. Because some of the forms are too much for one page, I decided to opt for Reza's tabbed menu technique to achieve my goal. Im almost there... but a bit lost due to the 2 Button Galleries I have. I have set both Galleries in a table and given each button a different ID from 1-11 (I didn't know if that was right or not.. 1-8 top row.. 9-11 bottom row).
In the pic... top is Button Gallery 1... under that is Button Gallery 2. Button Gallery 2 should only appear when the first button in the Gallery 1 is selected.. and also any of the buttons in Gallery 2 (I can get it to do half of this). The top Gallery I have working... in that when I click on the first tab it makes Form1 Visible (varTabSelected=1). When I click on tab 2... it makes Form2 Visible (varTabSelected=2). Because those forms are so long.. I thought another Button Gallery to then split those up further (doing the Visible setting on the datacards instead of the Forms on the 2nd Button Gallery) would be a good solution.
Whatever I seem to try... I cant get it work. Its like I need to have something that says. If you click "Tab 1" in the 2nd row in pic.. then Form 1 AND the relevant datacards would become visible (varTabSelected=1 & 9). When you click on "Tab 2" it would be 1 & 10. Did I maybe need to set 2 variables (one for each table) rather than doing everything at once. Obviously when click on it currently it make the datacards visible, but as ID:1 is no longer selected (ID:9 is).. Form 1 is no longer visible.
Hopefully I've given enough info but please let me know if not. My brains gone in circles so much I thought id reach out again before the steam starts.
Thanks everyone and sorry if this is simple stuff but I could find nothing out there to help
Solved! Go to Solution.
brother instead of using IsSeected property in the visible property of the button. try assigning a variable on the OnSelect porperty of the button whose IsSelected property you are using. I hope this helps
Brother i suggest you visit my blog on how to create a tabular form. My approach is similar to reza's but its more convenient i guess. see if you can find it useful. and feel free to ask any further questions.
Hi Shaheer
Thanks for the response but it doesn't really get me any further forward.. just another way to achieve what I have already with my top button gallery. It's how that gallery interacts with the one below im sturggling with. How I code taking elements from the top and bottom gallery. I thought I might be able to name the tables but you can't do that.
I need to be able to say if a button on the top is pressed it makes the relevant form visible but then also takes into account what's selected from the bottom gallery so it makes the correct fields visible. Currently if I select the 1st button top table and then select 2nd tab from the bottom.. that button gallery then turns invisible because it forgets button 1 in top table is still pressed (its syntax is to be visible when button 1 is selected.. as ive now pressed button 10 is vanishes).
I'm missing something here and it's driving me bonkers. It can't be that hard to say if this button from this gallery is pressed do this.. and if this button on this gallery is selected.. do this.. but don't forget button 1s still selected.
Are there any vids or blogs out there with people using 2 button galleries in tandem? If it was just using buttons then I'd know how to do it.. but the 2 button galleries has me a bit foxed lol.
Thanks
brother instead of using IsSeected property in the visible property of the button. try assigning a variable on the OnSelect porperty of the button whose IsSelected property you are using. I hope this helps
Not sure if that helped lol... but I got it working in the end. I assigned the different galleries different variables... so now I have 3 galleries all working in conjunction with each other quite well. Until the next bump 🙂 Thanks
