content typed into text field disappears after submission

Hello,

I have a PowerApp that has been working fine until recently and I'm stumped as to what happened. I have a multi-lines of text field called "Collection Notes" that users edit in the edit screen and save like normally however, each time I click the check mark to save and refresh the gallery any new notes that I entered are disappearing. Any idea where to start to trouble shoot this problem? The formula for submitting the form is SubmitForm(EditForm1_1). Thank you for any help you can give me!

Another thing; if I am in the details screen and click the edit button I get a completely different set of data than what is displayed in the details screen....

I tried setting this up based on another thread I saw. When the user clicks the details or edit icon, I set a variable(Record) to Record.ThisItem.  My DetailsForm and EditForm both have the Item property set to Record. If I click just the details button, I get the correct information. If I click just the edit button, I get the correct information. However, if I click the details button and then click the edit button I get completely different information in the edit form. If I try to edit the text column and save it, the notes are lost. Thanks for any help!

If name of your comment Textbox is Datacardvalue5 put this formula on the default property :
EditForm1_1.LastSubmit.CommentField

Where CommentField is the the ColumnName in your list or table where you save the comments

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately, I'm not able to see any notes on either of the screens with that formula in place.

The behavior is strange. When going from details to edit screen the value in the variable will be the same for multiple different items but if I click the edit or detail screen directly it loads the correct item....

You have not tried what I posted.
1.What is the textbox name on your form
2. What is the column name in your table

I think I did try what you said. To be clear, you mean the textbox in my Edit form right? If so:

1. My text box is DataCardValue4
2. My column is CM_NewCollectionNotes

My formula for the default value of DataCardValue4 is EditForm1_1.LastSubmit.CM_NewCollectionNotes

It's like the variable gets...stuck, for lack of a better word but only when clicking to edit the form from the details form. It will load the same data for every item when you click the edit from details but load the correct items when going directly to either.

OK instead of a variable, can you try insert a gallery and set it items property to the datasource. Then edit form to gallery.selected.
