create a combobox dropdown from a text column

Hi Everyone!

I have a text column called date range - this is where people are free to write in Jan 23 or june ect.

I want to create a comobox so people are able to click the one they previously typed in. 

I have tried this: 

Distinct(Split(Concat(FY25S, 'Date Range' & ", "),", "),Result)

but result isn't recognised.

Any Ideas? Thanks!

The options in the combo box are coming up as blank. 

Distinct(Split(Concat(FY25S, 'Account Manager' & ", "),", "),Value)

Should this formula work to view the data in the column?

I did not look much at the formula before, but you really only need

Distinct(
   FY25S,
   'Date Range'
)

Thanks, but there's still nothing showing in my combo box (see image)

Any Ideas? i only have 2 rows of data so far and neither are showing up!

Assuming FY55 is a SharePoint list (you did not state your data source), 'Date Range' is a Single Line of Text field in that List and you have some data in the field, that code should contain a unique list of the values in that field. Am I assuming correctly on the data ?

Yes, FY25 is a data verse table and the column is a single line of text column. I should probably mention that i am building this canvas apps on Microsoft for teams.

It is always good to mention your data source initially as it will affect the response and possibly who responds. I do not use Dataverse or Teams, so cannot test anything, however as I mentioned, the code I posted works perfectly in both Classic and Modern Combo Boxes in a Canvas App using SharePoint.

i solved it by making the items: FY25S

and removing all the fields except for Date Range and now the data appears in the combo box. 

Now when i try and filter, 

Sort(Filter(FY25S,And(Or(IsBlank(ComboBox2.SelectedItems), IsEmpty(ComboBox2.SelectedItems), 'Data Range'' in ComboBox2.SelectedItems))),Market,SortOrder.Ascending) shows invalid data type. I believe it is because this is expecting a value field and instead its a text column?

You have left out the Distinct(), so the output will now not be .Value - it will be .'Date Range'. This being a "fix" however makes little sense to me. Your Filter should now be

Sort(
   Filter(
      FY25S,
      Or(
         IsBlank(ComboBox2.SelectedItems), 
         IsEmpty(ComboBox2.SelectedItems), 
         'Data Range' in ComboBox2.SelectedItems.'Date Range'
      )
   ),
   Market,
   SortOrder.Ascending
)
