defaultSelectedItems has Expected Table Value error but didn't before

I have a Power App with a combo box who's defaultSelectedItems was set to the variable requestTypeValue. I have recently changed the data source of this app to (what should be) an identical Microsoft List. But for some reason now I am getting an Expected Table Value error for defaultSelectedItems and I cannot work out why. I have checked the choice fields in both data sources and all of the field settings look identical. I have also compared them inside power apps, since I have a backup of the app with the original data source. The backup app with the original data source still works fine without any issues.

What should I look for to try to diagnose why it is working in one app but not the other?

Hi @v-dezhili-msft , yes that is exactly what I have and as mentioned it is working in my back up but not in the copy. What should I do to try to diagnose why the error is happening? Or is it possible that the error is being triggered incorrectly for some reason and I need to reset the app somehow to make it go away?

Hi @Power_Automater ,

I guess you forgot to modify some controls after changing the data source. So make your variable value be assigned null. But I'm not sure about the details. You can select your variable to check whether its data structure is consistent with the data structure required by the control.

Hi @v-dezhili-msft , I have finally managed to find the issue, and in the end I was able to diagnose it by looking at the variables screen (3 dots besides Settings) as you had suggested. This showed me exactly what type the variable was being assigned as in each formula and I discovered an old backup screen was causing the issue. Once I deleted this the errors have now gone away. So thank you for that, this last tip is what has saved the day.
