disable button based on primary key in drop down

Hi,

I'd like to be able to have a button disabled once data is populated in the table based on a primary key.

I have a stored procedure that inserts data into a table based on its primary key(dropdown) ONLY if the data doesn't exist in the table. The button is pointing to the stored procedure using a flow but I want to make sure the button disappears if the same user or another user tries to click the button after its already clicked the first time by anyone.

For example, if a john clicks the button in PowerApps which executes the stored procedure that inserts 1 row with primary key 123 into table xyz, the button will be not be visible for john if he tries click the button for the same primary key in another powerapp session. Now, if lisa tries to open up PowerApps and selects primary key 123, button will not be visible for her either. Hope this make sense.

Do you want to disable the Button based on the Primary Key in your SQL Table (e.g. xyz)?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think the LookUp function could achieve your needs. I have made a test on my side, please consider take a try with the following workaround:

Set the Visible property of the "Submit" button to folllwing:

If(
   IsBlank(LookUp('[dbo].[xyz_Table]', PrimaryKeyColumn = Dropdown1.Selected.Value)),
   true,
   false
)

Note: The PrimaryKeyColumn represents the column in your xyz table, which is used to store the selected primary key value from the Dropdown box (Dropdown1).

hi,

the button works after I click on an id when I first open the app. when I click the drop down and change it to another id, the button doesn't reappear. any reason why that's happening?

I pretty much want the button to disappear after being clicked by any user that selects a primary key in the drop down. The button should reappear if the user selects another primary key where the button has not being pressed before. The button pretty much run a stored procedure that populates a table. I just dont want the users clicking the button twice.

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I think the solution I provided above could achieve your needs.

Please consider add the following formula within the OnSelect property of the "Submit" button:

'FlowName'.Run(...); // Fire flow to execute SQL Procedure to populate your '[dbo].[xyz_Table]' table
Refresh('[dbo].[xyz_Table]')   // Add this formula to refresh the '[dbo].[xyz_Table]' table after you execute your SQL Procedure 

Set the Visible property of the "Submit" button to folllwing:

   IsBlank(LookUp('[dbo].[xyz_Table]', PrimaryKeyColumn = Dropdown1.Selected.Value)), // Check if the selected primary key value in the Dropdown box has already been existed in your '[dbo].[xyz_Table]' table

In addition, you could consider add a Timer control in your app, then set the Duration property to following:

1000

set the AutoStart and Repeat property to following:

true

set the OnTimerEnd property to following:

Refresh('[dbo].[xyz_Table]')   // Refrsh your '[dbo].[xyz_Table]' table every second 

set the Visible property of the Timer control to following:

false

The table the flow is populating is different from the dropdown list table but they are interconnected with the primary key. will this solution still work?
