Hello all,

I have a "Person" column in a sharepoint and I want update this column over combobox in the "Patch" function.

Normally my code seems like this;

Maintenance_Members: DataCardValue18.SelectedItems

But in this code, I get an error as following. 

What can be problem? I couldn't find a root cause.

Normally it was working but I changed my sharepoint list (but create exactly same one), then it didn't work.

What is happening is the function is expecting a single row or object and is getting a table of rows or objects. Even if the table is only of length 1 it will still throw the same error. Above is a link to a video by Shane Young where he goes over how to patch to complex column types. This is one of the many reason I try to avoid complex column types like the plague.

Thanks a lot! I watched the video and find something.. But I have still a problem.

In the example in the video, the person wrote the necessary information for the columns directly as a string. Like in the below.

Maintenance_Members: 
            {
                DisplayName: "",
                Claims: "asdf@outlook.com",
                Department: "",
                Email: "",
                JobTitle: "",
                Picture: ""
            }

But I have already DisplayName it's comes from Office365Connector and this information in the ComboBox.DefaultItems.. That's why, I need get this user name from ComboBox to here.

First I want to mention that SelectedItems property and Selected property are different and will give different results. Also combobox is harder to work with than a simple dropdown menu. Just food for thought. If you need the search then combobox is your control, but if not then you might try a simple dropdown. Maybe try setting SelectMultiple property on your combobox to false to limit it to a single choice and then use Selected rather than SelectedItems. 

If that doesn't work I would try clicking Edit on the property called Fields on the right-hand menu. This will give you options to set PrimaryText and SearchField properties. It might be good to combine this and the first suggestion in this comment to make the control more simple to work with. 

Once those are done you should be able to see results in your combobox and search/select any one of them. Remember that once you select one of the items, you are not just selecting the string from the column you chose, but you are working with the entire object/row that is associate with that value. Due to this you will have to use the syntax: ComboBoxName.Selected.ColumnToDisplay. This code is asking power apps to grab the object from the list that is linked to the combobox that was selected by the user and then return its ColumnToDisplay value. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks a lot for detail information. I'll use in the next time.

For now, I couldn't any solution and changed my SP list columns type from "Person" to "Text" then I just got combobox's default infomation to text column and it's work.
