some variables and collections have been reset

Hello All,

Over the past months I have worked on creating an App in PowerApps. However today I wanted to check back in and see if there are any design features I'd like to improve so I logged in to editor mode and found myself with this error:

typicalmicrosoft.png

It doesn't matter if I select 'Save and reload' or 'Skip' - both buttons in actuality don't do a single thing for me. they just remove the pop-up and leave me with an error ridden application. As you can see in the image above I've marked yellow several comma's (` , `).

Why these comma's suddenly appeared I have no clue, however they should be semi-colons (` ; `) between arguments and double semi-colon between functions   [example:   Set(var;true) ;; Set(othervar;false)  ]. this is how I originally wrote everything because I'm working under the European language template.

What am I to do? It obviously isn't a choice to just accept it and spend days of work fixing all the errors if it can get F'd like this at any random moment anyway..

What caused this error? how do i prevent it from happening, and how do I revert everything without deleting work.

To sum up:

1 this came out of nowhere after not editing the app for several days.

2 semicolons (;) have been changed to commas (,) as if the language template were suddenly different

3 Both options in the pop-up window don't do a single thing.

4 I've already set back an older version of the app, obviously without result otherwise this post wouldn't be here aswel as that the problem appeared out of nowhere so it also just apppeared out of nowhere on an older version.

Apparently the language template settings are defined by your browser (??????).

Problem seemed to be caused by using a different browser than usual, This had to be done because microsoft kept prompting me to log in/authenticate until eternity without end.

I've created a new app to test out the language template settings and it seems like microsoft changed the european language template to match that of the rest of the world (ie use comma to seperate arguments, use 1 semicolon to seperate functions instead of   1 semicolon for arguments and 2 for functions)

I started working with powerapps in January this year, for 8 months and 16 days straight i have been saying Set(varName ; content) ;; Set var2Name ; content )    and now suddenly, apparently this is no longer right.  Is this local settings on my tenant (that have been changed without my knowledge or consent by microsoft) or is this a feature upgrade / update to powerapps (also without my knowledge)

I've noticed that when I asked my colleague to login to the app and edit it - it would ask him the same question but if he presses skip everything works fine after it. I asked him to save and to log out again but on my machine everything gets instantly F'd up.

Hi,

Looks like you were able to get your issue figured out. Yes HTML uses language codes to determine what to present in. You can see some additional information on that below; Please take a look.

I started getting the same issue this morning but get the same message in different browsers, so dont think it is a browser issue.

Hi all,

Since 1 week now I am facing a similar issue (Using Power apps Template "Leave request"):

The schema for your data sources have been updated, which have reset the following variables and collections: _

selectedLeaveItem, _leaveStart, _leaveEnd

We recommend reinitializing your variables and collections by saving and reloading the app.

My app is already published and in usage but I need to make some smalls changes (only text).

But If I make modifications and want to publish its, now the App is not working as expected.

Really don't understand how to fix this issue. I tried changing borwsers (Edge, Chrome) cleaning cache, cookies etc... No way to remove this message error.

Don't understand how to reinitialize variables and collections.

I need help, because I cannot expect to have to create again from "scratch" the app, due to an issue I did'nt generated.

Microsoft, initially I got the error "...some variables and collections have been reset". My code still isn't working after you guys made the change. I have more complex code than listed here. Will reverting to an older version of my App help?

Have you been able to solve this problem of "updating variables" and total breaking of the application?

I experienced the same thing, until now I don't know how to avoid errors.

but I found a solution for a moment: create and connect to a dummy database, then when editing and getting an error, click skip then remove the dummy database and add it again, then the error will disappear.

I hope this helps.
