updating 2 sharepoint lists from 1 powerapp

I have an employee master sharepoint list and have a powerapp that will be allowing the user to enter vacation requests writing to a 2nd sharepoint list.  What I need to be able to do is when they enter the vacation request go and subtract 8 hours from the employee master sharepoint list.  IDEAS?

Have you tried using two Patch commands on the same OnSelect?  This has been asked and answered previously.  You can try reading this thread:

Yes, use your Form as normal, and on the form properties, under "OnSuccess" you add a patch command per Threepointz post to remove the hours on the form submission. You will utilize the Form1.submitted. so you can get the values submitted in the form.

Could you please share a bit more about the "subtract 8 hours from the master SP list"?

Do you want to patch the data from one list to another list?

If you want to update the master list firstly and then transfer some data to another list, you should add a form generated based on the employee master sharepoint list. Once you submit the form, you could write a Patch() function to transfer data to 2nd SP list.

No matter the OnSuccess property of the form or the OnSelect property of the submit button, both could help you transfer data to 2nd list. Only the solution related to the OnSuccess property could refer to the Form.LastSubmit which is unstable. I would suggest to add a Patch() function behind the SubmitForm() function.

Set the OnSelect property of the submit button as below:

     Defaults(AnotehrList),
             {Column1:DataCardValu1.Text,

I have a 'master employee' list and 'employee vac request' list.  I have an app.. they enter their clock, the browse screen pulls in data from the master employee list and then they click the > arrow and it goes to the detail screen showing their available vacation hours left from that master employee list.  Then they click add and it opens the edit screen where they can enter info for a vacation request that will add a record to the employee vac request list. Now what I need to do is patch that master employee record with the hours they just requested.  I did the patch on the edit screen submit and it added a new record to the employee request list properly but also added a new record to the master list with the 10 hours.. and I need it to update the master I have pulled in based on clock number

I've been able to update the master with a filter perfectly.  Only issue I'm having is I cant get the end statement where it says value(datacardvalue15.text).  If I put  a number there like 10, it updates perfect.. but it doesn't seem to be able to get the value out of the datacard?  Does that make sense to anyone?
