How to hide a 'related record' button if the button itself has no value?

I have added to my multistep form under "Additional functionality" 2 "create related records" buttons

I would like to hide the button as a default, and only display it a dropdown value has a certain value

The usual hide submit button code doesn't work, as the related record button doesn't seem to have a value when I check via dev tools

How can I get to hide the related record buttons?

If the user is not dynamically setting it on the form in question (i.e. it is already saved on the record when the user opens the form/step) then you can use the Advanced settings (checkbox at the top right of the Configuration section) to apply a fetchxml filter to the button.

Yes @Fubar the button is already there when the user opens the form, to be honest I haven't worked with Fetch XML just yet, I am watching videos on Youtube and reading documentation, but a bit lost. 

I see we can select attributes although how would I target the button to be hidden? Although the button HTML has a data-filtercriteriaid number in dev tools, the number seems to change all the time, adding that doesn't work with JS even with single quotes in the filter

Your line of JQuery has an issue with the use of double quotes, your fitercriteria value should be single quotes (as the whole string is enclosed in double quotes).

But only use JS if your user is changing the value form (if they are not, then fetchxml filter on the button is the way to go).

Thank you @Fubar I finally understood what Fetch XML does and how to :))) I fixed it, code is below, now I have to figure out how to display the results of a Fetch XML in a form
