How to make CRUD on choices column from Power Pages

Can I edit the choices column option using the form in power pages?

what exactly do you want to achieve?

Do you want to change the choice itself or do you want to create ex. a checkbox from those choices?

@Lucas001 Well, imagine column choinces and different values inside. How to edit that values directly form power pages form? I want to provide user manualy edit choices value not from power admin panel but from forms in power pages.

Hi @peter21,

you usually have a choice defined in dataverse and can add all the needed choices there. On your form you will later see these options in your power page.

Or do you want to let the client add some more choices to the choice column itself?

this will not be easily done, but the following is what I would suggest.

You need a second form where you will let people add new choices and which can be submitted as standalone form.

You will than use those entries and power automate to create the new choice in your dataverse.

However the new choice will take some time to be added and you will face the issue that the flow takes some time as well as the chache refreshing of the power page takes up to 15 Minutes. Even thou it's getting better. There is currently no option to automatically refresh the cache.

Would it be easier to just use a text field and let them write there choice and add those choices afterwards for the next entry if it is not already existing?

No - Lookups are a single select only.  The closest you could get would be a subgrid with (Many-to-many relationship).  

You will probably have to do some customization to get what you want e.g. if you look in PCF Gallery there is an example of multi select for a many-to-many (but possibly may not work with the portal).   Similarly, one possible customization maybe to

• Create a text field to hold the selected id's (comma separated etc)
• Use the Portals Web API to query the Table of values (or put a subgrid that shows all values from a table, or )
• Use something like JQuery Multi-select (not part of standard JQuery but there's a plugin) with the data from the Subgrid/Web API
• Add you own button to add new items and use the Web API to create the new item (or if Subgrid find a way to use the Create button)
