I have an issue in my Power Portal. Client is not able to access a webpage without Administrator Web Role. There is only one Webpage Access Control  rule associated to this page to Restrict Read.

On further Investigation , I found that this is arising due to a Metadata filter on List. When I remove the filter it Works fine.

Hi,

We checked the same scenario and we are not facing the issue i.e. unable to access a webpage in Power Portal without an Administrator Web Role due to a Metadata filter on a list.

If you are still facing the issue you could try the below steps:

  1. Review Webpage Access Control Rule

Ensure the Webpage Access Control rule is correctly set up:

  1. Go to the Power Portal Management area.
  2. Navigate to the Webpage Access Control Rules.
  3. Verify that the rule associated with the specific webpage is set to allow read access for the appropriate roles, not just the Administrator role.

2. Check Metadata Filter Permissions

The issue seems to be with the Metadata filter on the list. Ensure that the users have the necessary permissions to view the metadata:

  1. Navigate to the List:
    • Go to the Power Portal Management area.
    • Navigate to the List section and select the relevant list.
  2. Check the Metadata Filter:
    • Inspect the filter criteria applied.
    • Make sure the filter does not restrict access based on user roles or permissions.
  3. Ensure Users Have Correct Permissions:
    • Ensure that the users have the necessary permissions to view the list items that match the metadata filter criteria.
    • Check if there are any entity permissions associated with the list or the entities involved in the metadata filter.

3. Configure Entity Permissions

If the users need specific permissions to view the filtered list items, configure the Entity Permissions:

  1. Set Up Entity Permissions:
    • Go to the Power Portal Management area.
    • Navigate to Entity Permissions.
    • Create or modify the permissions for the entity associated with the list.
    • Ensure the appropriate roles are granted Read permissions.
  2. Assign Roles to Users:
    • Go to the Security settings.
    • Assign the appropriate roles to the users who need access to the webpage.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

@Inogic Thanks for the reply.

This error gets resolved when I added the below filter on list.

But I do not need this filter. Can you suggest anything that I can do to get the root cause of the issue.
