Associate FORMS Response to User

I have a FORMs created and planning to have employees fill out on a daily basis. I have created a Flow that can create a new records and import the data successfully, but I don't know how to associate the record to the person who filled out the Form. I have created and Email lookup field to an Email entity where the email address is the Name, but when I try to associate the field with the Responder's email - I get an error:

How can I associate these to the User who submitted the Form?

So I have created a flow that does this with no problems.

We're using a couple of actions here before we move to the Get User.

Step 1. Get the form response details. As long as the people who are responding are in your organisation, you will get the email through.

Step 2. Search for the user. Because the 'Get User' function requires the User Principal Name or ID, we can't just put the dynamic email address in. So I have searched for users using the email address.

Step 3. The search will return an array, we don't want that, we want one item. So I have used a 'Compose' action to get just the ID of the first person in that array. (Formula for that is 

first(body('Search_for_user_(V2)')?['Value'])?['Id'] ) 

Step 4. Now that we have the compose output as an ID we can use the normal get user function, and use that action to do whatever you want next.

You could in theory update that compose action to be whatever you needed by changing the 'Id' at the end into the reference of whatever else you need.

Thank you for some insight. When I try this out - My formula for Compose is Pink vs Blue - will this affect the Flow?

It's not working because your search for user is named 'Search for user (V2) 2'. The body part of the compose needs to meet the name of that action so you can either:

1. Rename the Search for user (click the ellipsis then rename) to 'Search for user (V2)' providing this is your only search for user function.

OR

2. Update the formula to: first(body('Search_for_user_(V2)_2')?['Value'])?['Id']

The only reason mines blue is I like the experimental features for formula editing. Don't worry about it.

It set up works now, but when I choose Mail as the field, I get the same error as before. I am trying to associate the document in the wrong Field?

It shouldn’t be in an “apply to each” loop. Make sure you’re selecting the “email” dynamic content from

the get user action.
