Create HTML Table With Calendar event.

Hi,

I am making an automated report for calendar events based on employees and am running into a really weird issue regarding the get events(v4) and the data it is pulling which complicates all actions below. Currently the calendar we use shows up as EST timezone in all events and settings within the calendar settings. However when i look at what the table is getting as an input from the Get Events(V4) I see it is timezone = utc.

            "subject": "Thomas - Personal",
            "start": "2024-01-25T18:00:00.0000000",

This is throwing everything off by 5 hours and making everything below error out or be inaccurate. I have tried to manually convert it back to UTC -5 for EST timezone and it somewhat works where it pushes back any non full day events to their true time. The catch is any fullday event is rolled over to the next day. Any advice on how to make the Get Events V4 to pull actual data in EST Timezone instead of UTC? As that would remedy the initial issue.

Hi @Nick10

I am not getting the idea when u said he catch is any fullday event is rolled over to the next day

So full day event shown for today in calendar in EST format may be pushed by 5 hours when shown in UTC right ? so converting it back to UTC would recover the same as in calendar, am i correct ?

Hi Nived,

Please see attached photo

Highlighted entries are correct times, i have had to use an expression

"convertTimeZone(item()?['start'], 'UTC''Eastern Standard Time''g')" to be able to get the correct time. However as you see all the other entries that say 7:00Pm are suppose to be +5 Hours ahead to make the midnight aka 00:00.

Line 1 shows start date of 2024-01-15, but the converted to est time shows 2024-01-14 7pm. It should be 2024-01-15 12:00am. The same thing for end day and end time. It seems when i convert the time to EST the "isAllDay" events in the calendar get shifted.

Highlighted are now incorrect timing with then expression

"formatDateTime(item()?['start'],'g')"

As you can see the all day event in line 1 is working correctly now showing it goes from 1/15/24 12:00am to the next day at 1/16/2024 12:00am. It seems to be flipping either whenever i change the expression to convert the timezone. I bet there is something small i am missing here.

Hi @Nick10

so you are saying the below highlighted datetime is incorrect ?

Nived_Nambiar_0-1713900735439.png

it should be 1/15/2024 7pm right ? then could you tell how it is shown in calendar, is it same only ?

Hi @Nived_Nambiar

Yes, the time is incorrect, it should be 1/15/2024 00:00. In the calendar it is a full day event

Hi @Nick10

Sorry i was bit confused earlier. I thought that whatever time returned from get events output would be of UTC format when viewing via power automate cloud flows, But i saw for all day events , it shows the same time as entered in the calendar itself not in UTC format.

So before converting to a required timezone for a timestamp, you have to check whether the event is all day event type or not, if all day event, no need to use expression to convert timezone else use expression to convert to required timezone.
