Creating a flow to get events from calender for next day

Hi there,

I have a sharepoint site containing an OOF calendar where all of our employees who have days off are organized. I am trying to create a flow to automatically check the calender for the next day, and send an email to everyone in their department that tomorrow they will have the day off. I have created the occurence, get item, but i am confused on the dynamic entry in the 'filter array' that will get events for just the next day. Any help would be appreciated!

Do you want to get events from SharePoint Calendar for next day?

I have made the following test for your reference.

Add a recurrence trigger so that it could run daily. Here I am using a button trigger for testing.

Get items from the calendar.

Add the action Filter array with the following code to filter out events for next day:

@and(
 greaterorequals(adddays(utcnow(),1,'yyyy-MM-dd'),formatDateTime(item()?['EventDate'],'yyyy-MM-dd')),
lessorequals(adddays(utcnow(),1,'yyyy-MM-dd'),formatDateTime(item()?['EndDate'],'yyyy-MM-dd'))
)

Create an HTML table. Select body from the Filter query, and input the following function for title field:

item()?['Title']

Then send an email with the html table and make sure you enable Yes for Is HTML table field.

Thanks a ton for the reply, as this has been of great help. I went ahead and copied your method over which ran correctly, my only problem is that the email I get only displays calendar holidays all the way through the year. Any idea why this might be, and how I can get the employees taking time off instead?

Hi @ahlbornj,

Do you mean that it only returns the holidays on the calendar but not the events created by employees?

As the screenshot I provided previously, it did return the events that matched the condition.

Sorry to dig up a post from the past,

this works well for my purpose also, however I have one question : how do you accomodate for recurring events?

I want to create a flow to get events from tomorrow, but it skips the recurring events.

The reason is that tomorrow's occurence of the meeting is not included as-is in the calendar, only the original meeting can be found.

unless there is another way to get tomorrow's occurence?

in the last resort I will try to derive tomorrow's occurrence from the original meeting via the timing and recurrence.
