Get computer's internet network name

I am currently trying to get the current internet (wifi) network name, since I need to login to the VPN if I am not conected to the company's network.

What my flow currently does is:

- Click on the wifi Icon in the tray, with X and Y coordinates (image didn't work, and interface element would take the entire system tray as element and always click on the date and open the calendar instead)

- Wait 3 seconds for the wifi panel to load properly

- Screenshot the entire screen and save, overwriting it onto an image file

- Get text with OCR of the portion of the screen with the current connected network, with X and Y box coordinates (Screenshot Interface Element only works with a given network, if you're connected to anothe rone it doesn't matter if it's first in the list and highlighted in the accent color, the screenshot step fails because if doesn't find the xxxx_network list item)

- Enter an if block, in which it uses the first characters of the OCR text (wifi name) to compare to what it should be. If it's not the one I want it launches the VPN software and logs in.

There must be a simpler way to get this information, it's stored somewhere in the computer after all. How can I get the current network name without all this hassle (and X,Y coordinates which might fail if connected to a different display)?

Could you try this powershell script to get computer internet name ?

[System.Net.Dns]::GetHostName()

This got my computer's name in the network, but I need to know the wifi name. But I will look for more powershell sentences! One of them has to give me the wifi name.

could you try this command in powershell

netsh wlan show interfaces | Select-String -Pattern "SSID"

I think this will give you the answer

Hey! This one does have the information as you say, although a bit complex. I found this one that gives you the name and that's it.

`(get-netconnectionProfile).Name`

Worked like a charm.
