Get solution version in flow

Hi all,

In flows, is it possible to retrieve the solution version number it belongs to?

I don't find much documentation about this. Anyone knows how to? Or is it not possible?

Hi @SkiDK,

This would be possible by using a couple of Dataverse tables. You could use the processes, solutions components & solutions tables to retrieve the correct version and name of a related flow.

Below is an example of that approach.

I have found an easier way by using the xrmWorkflowId property of the workflow function. This way you don't have to lookup a row in the Processes table.

I'm sorry to revive this, but this flow is not working in my production environment, when it does in the development environment. Since all flows are also present in the Default Solution, that solution is returned first in the "Get Rows" action. Because we are manually specifying the first array item, the wrong solution name is returned.

Any ideas?

Just wanted to mention that we are getting Default 1.0 in our production environment as well instead of the custom managed solution version using the above.

Same issue here, and solution found:

• In List Rows - Solution Components, do not set Row count parameter, so that all solutions where this flow appears are returned
• In Get a row by ID, in the expression field, enter the following expression:

  last(outputs('List_rows_Solution_Components')?['body/value'])['_solutionid_value']

• Enjoy!

So, the change is adding :

last(...)`

assuming that Default solution would always be the first in the list for whatever reason, and our solution of interest be the last. I tried using sort function, but there is no field in output of first step that can be used for this, event the createdon field that is clearly not in line with the date when the solution was created.

Unfortunately, that still provided me the default solution. As a last resort, I removed everything and started over.

I did a simple "List Rows" action from the Solutions table and filtered it where uniquename eq '[my solution name]'. Then with a Compose get the version to send back to powerapps. The main difference here is that I hard-coded the unique solution name to filter the solutions table but it worked across all environments.
