Grabbing info from Powerapps to Flow

Hi, 

I have the following output from the powerapps part in a flow: 

{

"Compose_Inputs": "{'FullName:'John Doe, 'Emailaddress:','CompanyName:'Test company'}"

}

I would like to use Fullname, Emailaddress and CompanyName in further parts of the flow. 

What would be best way to go about this?

I've attached a screenshot.

I tried to pick it apart by using triggerBody()['Compose_Inputs']['FullName'] or by splitting it: split(first(split(items('Compose_Inputs')?['FullName'],'.')),',')

Any help appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous 

It looks like your inputs are in JSON format so you can make use of the Parse JSON Data Operation step.

Set the Content to the value of your Compose_Inputs property, and then use an example response such as {'FullName:'John Doe, 'Emailaddress:':'test@test.com','CompanyName:'Test company'} in order to generate the schema.

After the JSON step you will then have access to FullName, Emailaddress, and CompanyName as Dynamic properties, which you can use throughout the rest of your Flow.

If you decide to add additional properties to your Compose_Inputs property, you will just need to regenerate the schema again in the Parse JSON step to get access to them.

Thank you. When I parse the json as you suggest, I still cannot see the dynamic content (I just see Compose_Inputs) in the next step.

Hi @Anonymous 

Your properties appear to be passed in as a string value in a single JSON property. If you were to try the Parse JSON step a second time (with the same schema) immediately after the first, and pass in the Compose_Inputs Dynamic property that is shown in your screenshot, does this then give you what you need?

If not, please share an image of your Parse JSON step and I can assist you further.

The data coming from PowerApps to Flow is in string format

First step would be to make sure the data coming in string format is converted to a json

Use a Compose action and use the json() function to convert your input string to json

Next use parse json to parse the output of the compose action

Please Note : Your data coming from PowerApps is not in a valid json format

It should be a valid json (I created a test using below data) -

So in powerapps, I'm doing the following to run the flow: Set(MyData, "{'FullName:'" & FullNameText.Text & ", 'Emailaddress:'" & EmailAddressText.Text & ",'CompanyName:'" & CompanyNameText.Text & "'}"); ContactDyn365.Run(MyData)

When I try to convert to json -> json(triggerBody()['Compose_Inputs']), I get the following:
