How to access user selected on the power app flow email?

Hello,

I created the power app and flow for the app. I want to access the user selected on the power app's screen on flow to send the email notification.

i.e. I selected the below user on power app screen.  I want to send email(To field) from the flow if this Investigator field is not empty.

Is there any idea how I can implement this in Flow.

May I ask why you don’t just use PowerApps to send the email using the Office365 connection in PowerApps. If you want to use this as this would be the easiest option here is the documentation:

If you really want to use flow for this action. I will need more information.
How is the drop down control being populated?

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to send an email to the user selected within the Investigator Name Dropdown box using Power Automate?

Further, could you please share a bit more about the Investigator Name field? Is it a Person Type field in a SP List?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think it is not necessary to use Power Automate to send an email to the selected user within the Dropdown box.

If the Investigator Name is a Person field in your SP List data source, please consider take a try with the following workaround:

Add a Office 365 Outlook connection as data source in your app. Add a "Send Email" button in your app, set the OnSelect property to following:

If(
   !IsBlank(InvestigatorDropdown.Selected.Email),
    Office365Outlook.SendEmail(InvestigatorDropdown.Selected.Email, "Email Subject", "Email Body")
)

If the Investigator Name is a Normal Text Type column in your data source, please consider take a try with the following workaround:

1. Add a Office 365 Users connection in your app.

2. Set the OnSelect property of the "Send Email" button to following:

If(
   !IsBlank(InvestigatorDropdown.Selected.Value),
    Office365Outlook.SendEmail(
                               LookUp(Office365Users.SearchUser(), DisplayName = InvestigatorDropdown.Selected.Value, Mail), 
                               "Email Subject", 
                               "Email Body"
   )
)

If you want to use Power Automate flow to send the email, you need to pass the email of the selected user to the flow from your app. The flow's configuration looks as below:

Within your app, add above flow connection, then set the OnSelect property of "Send Email" button to following:

// Investigator field is a Person column in your SP List

   !IsBlank(InvestigatorDropdown.Selected.Email),
    'FlowName'.Run(
                   InvestigatorDropdown.Selected.Email
   )
)

or

// Investigator field is a Text type column
If(
   !IsBlank(InvestigatorDropdown.Selected.Value),

                   LookUp(Office365Users.SearchUser(), DisplayName = InvestigatorDropdown.Selected.Value, Mail)

Fire a flow from a canvas app
