How to create a MS Flow to send email notification 90 days after the created date?

Hello,  I have an email flow and I need to make the flow send me an email notification after the submitted issue reported date but I can't seem to make this happen.  Any help on this will be pretty much appreciated.

Hi @eguillenv

Power Automate supports different data sources and filters. What's your submission data source here?

Thanks

I am new to MS Flow. I have a sharepoint list with several fields and one of them/column is called "Issue Reported Date" Which is a SP date field. I made a recurrence for every 3 months but need this flow to review items and when the added item is 90 days after the Issue reported Date to send me an email saying I need to review this item again. Not sure if this is what you need?

Hi @eguillenv

You can set up the recurrence flow to run the flow every day. In the flow, add an action to get items from sharepoint. In the filter query of this action use the expression as:

columnname le 'formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(),-90),'yyyy-MM-dd')'

Here, replace the columnanme with the actual name of the column in SP where you are storing the date for each item and then 'le' is the operand as less than.

This flow will run everyday and get items that have that date less than 90 days in the past and you can add an email action to get those items in an email.

Hope this Helps!

Hi @eguillenv

Thanks for your reply.

Just adding bit more to what @yashag2255 described. If your column name is 'Issue Reported Date' with spaces then use the below syntax with _x0020_ instead of spaces. These are called the internal names in SharePoint. If you want to know the internal name (schema) of the field then click the site list > settings > select the column > Check the end of the browser url to see the internal name of the column.

Good Morning,

Thank you for helping me.

I  went to column settings and this was the URL and said at the end - Field=DateRequested

so, I tried the following expression: Date_x0020_Requested le formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(),-1),'yyyy-MM-dd')

and I just notice that the format date in my colum is mm-dd-yyyy will this also be a problem?

But the flow gave me an error when tested: The expression "Date_x0020_Requested le 2020-05-26" is not valid.

Not sure what I am doing wrong?

Hi @eguillenv

I always used yyyy-MM-dd format. The reason for the failure is you need to use single quotes around the formatdate expression.

Thanks

Thank you,

Now I am getting an error message saying: Column 'DateRequested' does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user.

But the column does exist.

Hi @eguillenv

Looks like you are referencing the wrong name. Got to List settings > click column , check the url and check the column name.

Thanks

Hello,

I went to List Settings > Columns and click on the column Date Requested and this is the URL

https://xxx.xxxxxxxxx.com/xxxxx/xxxxxxxxxx/_layouts/15/FldEdit.aspx?List=%7B73369E43%2DD8CC%2D4864%2..., so I am taking the name as "DateRequested" or should I should I use spaces?

Thanks for all your help.

Sure,

When I go to List Settings and then to columns and click on the Requested Date column this is the URL:

//xxxx.sharepoint.com/teams/xxxxx-xxxxxxxx/_layouts/15/FldEdit.aspx?List=%7B73369E43%2DD8CC%2D4864%2D8BD1%2D1E30E4F52923%7D&Field=DateRequested

Sorry,

Initially I was looking at the incorrect SP list which is related to the same subject and got the incorrect Column. That is why it was giving me that incorrect deleted column  message.

So I did fix it to : Issue_x0020_Reported_x0020_Date le '@{formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(),-90),'yyyy-MM-dd')}'

and no errors on it.

Capture.PNG

Right now to be clear as to what this is doing this flow is:

1. MS Flow first will initiate checking Every 1 day

2. MS Flow second will get all the items from the SP URL and list; then it will filter only the items that are 90 days old from the "IssueReportedDate" in the list.

3. MS Flow third will review the condition from the filters items is met, if yer will send the email notification, if not will stop.

Fingers Crossed and appreciate all your help and support on this one.

Newbie but trying to learn all this expressions stuff.

Appreciated!
