How to edit a flows code view when it is read only

I have search far and wide on how to make edits in code view and to turn off read only attribute for this.  Please provide assistance on how to achieve tand resolve this issue.

I don’t think you can. You can copy it to clipboard, edit it in notepad or whatever other application and paste it back into your flow.

That's not going to work, how can you paste back the changes when the editor is read-only??

You copy the action, scope, condition or whatever, paste it to notepad, do your changes and paste it pack to the flow. I do this a lot. It only works with the classic designer.

But if you want to change properties that can’t be changed in any setting, it won’t be in the json.

Ok so I click the ellipsis on the switch statement and select Copy to Clipboard, which I can paste into my notepad as show below, so how do I paste this into the code.  Where on this switch statement do I paste it?  there is not option for this that I can see.  Please help because I don't understand how this is achived.

You just delete the action and paste it back again (with the changes made in notepad). What exactly are you trying to change?

@Matthy79 I'm having the same problem. I added a new action to the flow, that too was read only. I couldn't update the code.

What are you talking about? Please clarify what steps you're taking here exactly.

Because what they're talking about is copying code from the "Peek Code" window. They take that, paste it into Notepad, make changes, copy it, and bring it back to PowerAutomate, but then what? You can't paste that code into the Peek Code window.

You said delete the action and "paste it back", but there is no visible option to "Paste" anything. There's also no option to create a new Action from raw code in the clipboard.

The only thing I can assume is you're talking about this:

But that doesn't allow you to paste raw code you copied from Notepad. That only works if you use this:

But the code you copy when you select that option isn't editable in Notepad. 

Maybe you're talking about an older version of the classic designer, because the current classic designer does not have any obvious method of doing what you're suggesting.

Sure it does and I do that a lot.

Copy it as you already did.

Paste it to notepad or whatever editor you use.

Do the changes there

Copy the whole json into the clipboard

Select „My clipboard“ as you already did and press „ctrl+v“

Now add the action that appears

How do you paste the edited code back into the designer? I can't seem to work it out. There is no option to paste when I right-click.
