How to render multiple selected values in a Word template

I'm trying to render multiple values selected from checkbox on a form made by Powerapps where its data source is a Sharepoint list, the type of column I'm using for this field is of choice configured to allow me to select multiple values.

In my Powerapps form I am changing the combobox to checkbox as follows:

For the OnCheck and OnUncheck property of each Checkbox I make use of a Collection, this collection is called "ViadeExposicion" with the respective validations as follows:

ClearCollect(

    ViadeExposicion;

    If(

        Checkbox3.Value;

        "Respiratoria"

    );

    If(

        Checkbox4.Value;

        "Dérmica"

    );

    If(

        Checkbox5.Value;

        "Digestiva"

    );

    If(

        Checkbox6.Value;

        "Ocular"

    );

    If(

        Checkbox7.Value;

        "Otra"

    )

);;

ClearCollect(

    ViadeExposicion;

    Filter(

        ViadeExposicion;

        !IsBlank(Value)

    )

)

 In my DataCard I have hidden the ComboBox with the values, as you can see I have the 5 checkbox that I use in my form

In my Word template represent the options that I have in the checkboxes with plain text content control because the word online connector does not currently support the checkbox currently according to the documentation.

As a help I came across someone who has a similar problem only who uses it with Yes/No column types https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Populate-Word-with-Checkbox/td-p/403194 it's an idea that works wonders when you use Yes/No columns, but it's not much help when you have to select multiple values (or so I think so far).

I would like someone to give me some guidance on how I can represent the multiple values selected in checkbox, I would quite appreciate it.

EDIT:

After three weeks of long research I have not yet found anything related that can help me represent the selected values of a Checkbox in my Word template, so I dared to try to make on my own a possible solution that is not yet fully resolved, so I share what I have advanced and the result I have obtained so far.

I decided to first initialize a variable of type String with the value of a selected box as follows:

sebastianslz_0-1665780915699.png
Then initialize another variable of equal type string but without an assigned value.

sebastianslz_1-1665780987280.png
Then I attach to the string variable the values of the sharepoint column I'm using within one step of Apply to each.

I set variable with the variables I declare at the beginning

sebastianslz_3-1665781064463.png

And finally in the step where I fill the Word document I make use of the previously declared variable.

sebastianslz_4-1665781100326.png

The result I get in the completed document at the end is that all the values appear with the box as if they had been selected.

Here the result is not what I expected, since I am selecting all the values when I have only selected two values.

I want to think that I am close to achieving it, I hope that someone can give me guidance at this point of how to achieve it.

@sebastianslz

This is straight forward using Encodian's Populate Word action. Normally with Encodian's actions, you would not need to use content controls. But for checkboxes, you do.

Document Preparation:

  1. Add a checkbox content control to your template.
  2. Navigate to the Properties of the content control.
  3. Add a <<check>> tag to the title of the checkbox content control using the following syntax
<<check [conditional_expression]>>

Here, conditional expressions defines a condition upon which the value of the checkbox content control is to be set to be check (or unchecked, if the condition is not met). The conditional expression must return a Boolean value.

Refer to: Conditional Expressions

While Populating the Word document, the Encodian engine will evaluate any expression declared within a check tag and set the value of the containing checkbox content control accordingly. The check tag itself is then removed.

All you have to do is get your PowerApps data into the correct JSON format to feed the conditional expression e.g.

JSON:

{
"checkbox": true
}

Checkbox Properties Title:

<<check [checkbox == true]>>
