@HarikaVL  in the increment variable action, for value you dont need to put the formula, just put 1 in the value

Hi,

It looks like your Do until condition is not correct.

@HarikaVL May i know where are you setting the value of Loop counter within the do until action?

Hello Anna,

I have set Loop Counter value in the Append to array as below.

Regards,

Harika.

@HarikaVL  it looks like the variable type is issue, the loop counter variable has type array, can you change it to integer. Also use Set Variable action instead of append to array variable action.

Anna Jhaveri

Hi Anna,

I tried that before, when i use the variable type integer, It is giving me the below error.

Error Message

Flow save failed with code 'WorkflowRunActionInputsInvalidProperty' and message 'The inputs of workflow run action 'Set_variable' of type 'SetVariable' are not valid. Self reference is not supported when updating the value of variable 'LoopCounter'.'.

Then i tried using another variable type integer. Temporarily assigning the value to new int and incrementing that but that didn't work too.

@HarikaVL  can you please share screenshot of Set Variable?

Anna Jhaveri

Here is the flow with two variables Loop counter and NewLoopCounter, but i am sure i am not storing the values properly but i don't know anymore how to do that. This way i am unable to say the flow itself.

HarikaVL_0-1697465035133.png

@HarikaVL  are you looking to increment the value of loop counter variable? Then you can use increment variable action instead of set variable.

Also did you create a new variable 'NewLoopCounter'  as type integer, then you have to use the same in your conditions and do until where you used your array variable previously

Anna Jhaveri

Thanks, let me try this way and i will let you know the result.

Hello Anna,

Thanks for the help, that worked replacing 1 instead of expression and using increment variable.

Here is my flow at last,

Hello Anna,

Yes, it's not going to infinite loop anymore, i changed the Do Until count from 60 to 1, it's working fine now.

Hello Anna,

The flow is sending notification on every Friday (Received notification today), not just the 3rd Friday. Guess there is still a flaw in my flow.

Thanks in Advance.

@HarikaVL  any reason why you are using the LoopCounter variable in do until as you are incrementing the NewLoopCounter variable and not the LoopCounter variable.

Anna Jhaveri

Hello Anna,

I am using LoopCounter in Do until to check the occurences of friday, that's y i gave a condition do until LoopCounter is equal to 2(0,1,2). But self incrementing is not allowed in Power Automate and i am getting Error, so i used another Variable(NewLoopCounter)to store the Loop Counter Value temporarily and increment that value.

I guess i didn't framed it very well.

@HarikaVL but you need to assign the NewLoopCounter value to LoopCounter after NewLoopCounter value is incremented otherwise LoopCounter value will not change and the flow will not stop running

Anna Jhaveri
