Import json File

Hi everyone, 

my problem is pretty straight forward: I am creating a flow which imports a json file from a sharepoint. In the end I need to parse this json file. The flow works if I initialize an object variable using the json formatted data as input and then access an array from the data. However, I need the flow to work using the file from the sharepoint. 

What I've tried so far is importing the file, using the base64 and base64 to string function. I retrieve the json formatted data but since it's a string and not an object I cannot create an array from this data. 

I also tried to use parse Json, but I get the an error that my input is not a valid json, since I was using the output from my functions.

Hi @Anonymous 

The "Parse JSON" is the best way to go. The error of "not valid JSON" is not because it's an output of a function but because the schema is not correct.

Can you please share your Flow and the error so that we can take a look and fix it?

Thank you for your quick resposne.

Whenever I use the parse json function using the json formatted data as Input and generating the Schema from an example using the same data it works. When I use the Output from a function that Imports data from a drive it gets stuck. I suupose that the Output of my import function is incorrect. That's why I was using the base64 and base64tostring function to retrieve the original data. But this also didn't work. I attached the screenshot which Shows the flow including only the Import of the data and the parse json function.

The error message says The "content" property must match the JSON type in the ParseJson action inputs, but it was"application/octet-stream".

Please copy the content that you see in the screen under "Dateiinhalt" and paste it in the "Parse JSON" > "Generate from Sample" and you'll get the correct schema.

Can you please translate the error? The error is not entirely related to the schema, but I need to know more details about the error to help you.

yes exactly, the Schema Looks like this:

The error message says: 

The attribute "content" must match the JSON type in the ParseJson action inputs, but it read "application/octet-stream".

Hi, 

I fixed the problem by simply adding a step: I initialized an object-variable using the Output of my Import module. As a next step I used this output in my parse json. That fixed my problem!
