Hello,

I'm really stuck on understanding what is causing this error in my flow.

"Invalid URL Value - A URL field contains invalid data. "

I have a form that has attachments fields. The flow then takes the attachments and turns the file object content into string, then I use that to get the file path of the uploaded file by adding 'name' on the end of the file path, and then I update the item in the sharepoint list with the 'link' The column in my list is a hyperlink column.

A user uploaded a file and got the above error i mentioned above, however, I uploaded the exact same file, and there was no issue. Initially I thought it may be to do the a character limit because the hyperlink column is limited to single line text, or maybe some characters were in the file name that it didn't like. I tested all this as well and it still worked for me.

Can anyone provide any advice on what could be going wrong / maybe there is a more efficient way of getting the outcome I'm after.

Hello! I have been messin' with hyperlinks in SharePoint lists recently. Correct me if I'm wrong (anyone) but if you use the column type 'Hyperlink' it will be expecting two fields / parameters:

Display Text

I ended up using 'Send an HTTP request to SharePoint' to update the item 'Link' with both parameters and it worked. For example:

PA_SP_SPLIST_Hyperlink_Example01

I wont reinvent the wheel by going through it, as everything I learned was through others who had already figured it out. In particular, check out Pankaj Surti's work here:

Alternatively, you could use the 'Multiple lines of text' column type and select 'Use enhanced rich text...' mode:

PA_SPList_Link_MLText_Example01

You can then use your current flow to update your item with the link (dynamic content) but be sure to encapsulate it with the required HTML so it is treated as a hyperlink. For example:

<a href="https://LinkURL-or-dynamic-content">LinkText</a>
