Hi all,
I tried to create a flow which automatically saves attachments, received via mail in Outlook, in OneDrive. Setting up the flow wasn't difficult as there was a template in Power Automate. I tested the flow and got a succeeded status. The issue is that I couldn't open the attachment in OneDrive and got below error message.
You can also see that the files all have 1kb memory which isn't the case for the original file in Outlook.
Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? Something is going wrong between Outlook and OneDrive but I'm not sure if it has something to do with Nitto settings or if it's just something that I should change in my flow in Power Automate.
Kind regards,
Jonas Vreys
@Jonas8 It's hard to provide recommendations without seeing your full flow. If you are using the new designer, toggle it off and click each action to expand them. Upload a screenshot of your flow in edit mode and the error you are receiving, it would help to provide more insight.
In the meantime you might find the YT Tutorial linked below helpful. Although this tutorial covers how to get the Email attachments from Outlook to SP—the concepts covered in this flow can be applied to your flow as well. Just select the OneDrive actions instead of the SP actions.
Save Email Attachments to SharePoint with Microsoft Power Automate
Power Automate doesn’t have a download attachment from outlook action. In this Power Automate Video tutorial, I’ll show you how to use the Get Attachment (V2) action in combination with the Create File action to get your email attachments onto SharePoint.
The Create File action will overwrite any files that already exist with the same name. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how you can append a timestamp to the end of a file name to prevent your file from being overwritten.
I’ll also show you how to set up your flow so that you can trigger it manually while building it so you don’t need to wait for an email to arrive. At the end of the video I’ll show you how adding trigger conditions to your flow can prevent it from triggering if certain conditions aren’t met. Although the final flow uses the When a new email arrives in a shared mailbox (V2) trigger, you can use any of the When a new email arrives triggers for your flow. Adjust this flow to suit your needs!

Hi,
Thank you for your reply! This are fields I filled in in the Outlook options and the flow:
This is in the OneDrive Parameters:
And the OneDrive Settings:
I tried to set 'Allow Chunking' on and off but both didn't change the outcome of the process.
After executing the flow, and receiving the file in OneDrive, I tried to open the attachment in OneDrive but got this error message:
And it shows like this in my OneDrive folder with 1kb memory:
I guess that the file is damaged somewhere between the transfer from Outlook to OneDrive but I have no idea on what the reason can be.
@Jonas8 I believe you need to add a Get Attachments (V2) action as I've demonstrated in the tutorial I linked. Can you try that and let me know if it helps?
