Need to use another User's connections on a Flow

Hi, I'll give some context with my problem. 

 

I created a flow that uses Sharepoint, Exchange, o365 and Forms connections.

 

Now, I created it with an account that I want to disable/erase in the future. 

I already shared the Flow to another account but it still uses my Connections and I'm not able to add Connections to that flow in particular. 

I know that from "Connections" you can add another account connections but that won't add them to the flow I want to.

 

I tested and if MY account (the one that created the flow) loses the permission to SharePoint or gets disabled the Flow stops working even if it's shared with another user that can use and acces all the Application/sites/files used in the Flow.

 

In less words: the connections of a Flow can't be changed, they can be removed but can't add specific ones.

 

Any ideas/help with this?

 

Also tried to delete my connections, add someone's else and THEN create the flow but still doesn't take them into account.

Generic Creds is bad news - what we need are Service Principals for PowerApps and PowerAutomate connectors

Hi @ScottShearer after sharing the flow with the user and getting their connection, can I remove them as owner of the flow and only use "run-only". I prefer not to have non-it personell as owners of the flows.

We encountered a similar issue and we were doing the solution as you have mentioned. But the problem is with the same email id few number of connections are listed. And sometimes the first one work, sometimes the second one work. It is not consistent. And it's taking a lot of time while testing with each connection. 

 

So, the problem is,

1. I am not sure why more than one connection is showing up for the same person.

2. Why doesn't any connections listed for the same person work. We are not able to figure which one works unless we test it because these connections show same email ids.

I also have had it happen where there are more than one connection listed for the same account (i.e., my user id with SharePoint (SP) has 2 connections listed).  If you go to the Power Automate/Connections area (i.e., not in the actual flow but just in the Power Automate site), I can see the multiple connections there.  I think I accidentally did that way back when I was trying to figure some problem out years ago.  Now, I have two SP connections.  I would delete one to clean things up, but some flows use one and some use the other.

 

I have never had it happen, however, that the different connections have different results.  You could check the details of each connection though.  Sometimes, one might be signed out.  Power Automate/Data/Connections (see the attached screen shot).

Hi Team,

 

I am unable to add a new connection to the trigger. After selecting the new connection and adding the person's email ID with whom I want to share the flow, it keeps adding my email ID multiple times.

 

I have attached the screenshot for your reference.

I have just looked at some of the flows that I have shared with other users, and I am seeing the same thing.  That said, I don't have any currently that are active and that I have shared.  They are all pretty old and are currently deactivated.  I know that, in the past, when I had a flow that I co-owned with someone, when I clicked the breadcrumbs, I would see their connections as well as my own that I could pick from for a particular action.  I don't remember if that was true for the trigger specifically, but I thought it would be.  Also, I can't tell if this has now changed of if I just don't have any flows that this would work for (i.e., flows that are currently active and co-owned).

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
