New to Power Automate and need help with adaptive card multi selection to SharePoint list!!

Hey everyone,

I apologise if this is not the correct place to post but looking for help with a flow.  I have created an adaptive card that at times will be required to have more than one user selected in a choice field.  The adaptive card is set up with a manual trigger, sent to a teams chat to be filled and then returns the information to a SharePoint list.  The process works perfectly when selecting one user, but fails when more than one user is selected to be assigned to a task in the SharePoint list.

(I also have ensured the SharePoint list is set for multiple selections)

When looking at what the flow is sending to the 'Assigned to' column it looks like this for example "testemail1@generic.com.au,testemail2@generic.com.au".

I have tried using the replace function to send it to look like this "testemail1@generic.com.au","testemail2@generic.com.au".  But it looks like this in the raw output "testemail1@generic.com.au\",\"testemail2@generic.com.au"

As mentioned in the title, I am new to Power Automate and I can't find any solutions online and have spent way longer on this than I care to admit.  I'm not sure if this is even a possibility!

Any advice or direction is welcomed.

Hi , @PANewbie99

Thanks for your response!

You need to Select the "Output" of Select action like this:

vyueyunmsft_0-1717478572025.png

You need to first click the icon behind it . And then select the "Output". You can also convert to the classic mode to test:

Hi , @PANewbie99

Can you show where you put the multi selection person as choices in your adaptive card in your flow side? Can you give me a screenshot for your flow?

Hi , @PANewbie99
Thanks for your response! Do you mean you want to get the response from your adaptive card choices selection and create an item to SharePoint list(Multiple-Selected person column)?

Hey @v-yueyun-msft ,

Yes thats correct.  It will work with one person selected, but wont with more than one.

Hi , @PANewbie99

Thanks for your response!

First , if you want to create the multiple-select person column, you need to pass:

[{"Claims":"xxxxxxxxx"},{"Claims":"xxxxxxxxx"}]

Solved: Update a person field in sharePoint with multiple ... - Power Platform Community (microsoft....

I test it in my side , this is the output of my "Post adaptive card and wait for a response" action:

vyueyunmsft_0-1717471081514.png

If you want to add this to the Multiple Person Column, you can refer to my test flow:

vyueyunmsft_1-1717471711055.png

split( outputs('Post_adaptive_card_and_wait_for_a_response')?['body/data/peoplePickerID'] , ',')

concat('i:0#.f|membership|' , toLower(item()))

Hi @v-yueyun-msft

Unfortunately, I am not having much luck.  I have followed the above but when I go and add to the 'output' on the 'create item' I only have 'output item'.  The flow then proceeds to add a 'for each' and changes the claims to the 'for each'.  I am not sure what I am doing wrong 😞

Hi , @PANewbie99

Thanks for your response!

You need to Select the "Output" of Select action like this:

vyueyunmsft_0-1717478572025.png

You need to first click the icon behind it . And then select the "Output". You can also convert to the classic mode to test:
