Sending emails to addresses from another SP list - as vlookup in Excel

hi All,

i need to send emails when the new item is created on SP Requests to respective email address from SP RequestsVLU. Both list have matching columns for example Entity. Emails are stored in SP REquestsVLU in Address to column

so the error that i have is :

ExpressionEvaluationFailed. The execution of template action 'Apply_to_each' failed: the result of the evaluation of 'foreach' expression '@triggerOutputs()?['body/OData__x0045_NT1']' is of type 'String'. The result must be a valid array.

Could you please help me?

Hi @martatracik ,

We really understand that you have more than one issue need to be solved today and we are surely happy to help you with those, but to better focus on the new problem and ensure the service quality, we would advise you to create another ticket on the issue.

However, I could give you some direction:

Power Automate Create PDF + 11 Examples - SPGuides

Note that you should get the last item at beginning, then use Get attachment and Get attachmeng content.

Best Regards,
Qi

Hi @martatracik,

The error message has given the solution, which needs an array, from the dynamic content, you should select Value.

Do you want to send email when the new created item equals to the another column in SP RequestsVLU?

The value you want to compare with the Entity is from the trigger, right?

Best Regards,
Qi

thank you for your answer, so my Key column might be Entity, that is in both lists.

SP RequestsVL - that list contains list of different values storage, this will be no changed.

martatracik_0-1678870480008.png

Requests - on that list will be saved new records from PowerApps.

martatracik_1-1678870541907.png

i tried to add an array as Set Component , not sure if that makes any sense

martatracik_2-1678871064867.png

another interesting issue that i face today is Error:

Column 'Entity' does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user.
clientRequestId: ec6e78cd-515b-41ab-aedd-8c01bdf9c463
serviceRequestId: ec6e78cd-515b-41ab-aedd-8c01bdf9c463

despite output looks good:

martatracik_3-1678871211372.png

i know that it might happen when column has a different name on SPlist:

martatracik_4-1678871294637.png

so i changed Filter Query to _x0045_NT1 eq '@{triggerOutputs()?['body/OData__x0045_NT1']}' , but it gives me the same error

Hi @martatracik,

You don't answer my second question😂, the value you want to compare with the Entity is from the trigger, right?

Or, you want to compare the whole entity column in Requests with the entity column in SP RequestsVL?

If you just want to compare the whole entity column with the Entity from the trigger, which is easier.

Best Regards,
Qi

i am sorry!Iyes, i want to compare whole entity column with the Entity from the trigger 🙂

Hi @martatracik,

Okay, I get it.😃

Here is a simple demo for your reference:

hi, it seems like it's almost working. Flow showed me that 'Entity' doesnt exist, so i replaced it with the "correct" column name "field_1", however now it shows column "AT002" doesnt exist. so i am wondering what to do, i replaced it also with true column name, but now it seems like it's not dynamic anymore:

1. AT002 doesnt exist

martatracik_0-1678877938257.png

2. returns empty value

Hi @martatracik,

I have confirmed with you that you want to compare the WHOLE Entity column from Requests with the entity column in SP RequestsVL.

You should write the sharing column(in your sample data, it is Entity column) from the SP RequestsVL firstly, then it equals to the field from the trigger "When an item is created".

To confirm the real column name from your SharePoint list, please excute the flow only with the trigge and the Get items, find the column from the returned body.

Best Regards,
Qi

hi Qi,

thank you for your patience to me 🙂

So, i did exactly how you advised. and i faced below error:

martatracik_0-1678966635642.png

frankly i dont understand it, because that's my flow:

martatracik_2-1678966714456.png

'field_01' is an Entity column from RequestVLU and Entity is from Requests.

RequestsVLU - list where all emails are saved (Get items)

Requests - list where new items will be saved (Trigger)

Hi @martatracik,

Try to add a single quote on each side of the Entity field as below:
