Good day to everyone!

Just want to ask for your help regarding this issue of mine, 

Is there any way to stop the calculation of a formula if a certain column value is selected?

I've attached a screenshot of my current work as a reference, 

on this list, [DAYS REMAINING] column is calculating days between the "EXP COMPLETION" date and TODAY()...

what I would like to do is this,

if [PROJ STATUS] column is selected as "CLOSE", the calculation in [DAYS REMAINING] column should be stopped.

Can someone help me with this? I've finished all the formulas on the rest of the columns except for this one, I can't seem to wrap my head around this problem...

Hi @jpb07 ,

You need a flow that triggers when the option CLOSED is selected for an item, then save the calculated column value to a number column permanently.

So, first you need to enable versioning for the list:

next, create a flow:

I tried doing this but I'm still not really familiar with Power Automate

but I was able to reach this part of creating a flow, but then got lost by the end of it..., I'm still not familiar with the syntax and all

You only need to select from dynamic contents to populate the number column with calculated column value from the trigger.

based on your instruction, it seems like I need to add another column on the list to facilitate the logic sequence... is this right?

...and also, the DAYS REMAINING column does not appear on dynamic contents, including other 2 columns as well.... i wonder why this is so...

Hi @jpb07 ,

I forgot that calculated columns won't appear in dynamic contents in SharePoint actions. You can add a compose action to get the calculated column value first, then use the result in Update item action:
