Start Date and Due Date - ISO Date/Time Conversion in Email

Hello,

I am trying to convert the Start Date and Due Date fields in a Task List from:

2023-08-17T15:00:00Z to something more legible for my assignees.

Preferably in this format:

Tuesday, August 17, 2023 5:00pm ET 

I have tried the format below and keep getting the ISO format error, though I know it is not what my goal is above:

formatDateTime('<due date>', 'yyyy/MM/dd hh:mm tt')

Any help is greatly appreciated!~

So it gave me the following which has no errors:

Start Date: Thursday, August 17, 2023 11:00 AM ET
Due Date:  Thursday, August 17, 2023 11:00 AM ET

However I need to pull the date and time for that specific task from the list in the email to the assignee.

Where would I notate the "start date" and "due date" fields in the formula?

That's awesome!  I am glad it worked out for you!

So to make this work for your start and due date dynamic content it would look something like this:

formatDateTime( convertFromUtc(insertStartDateDynamicConent_here, 'Eastern Standard Time'), 'dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy h:mm tt "ET"' )

formatDateTime( convertFromUtc(insertDueDateDynamicContent_here, 'Eastern Standard Time'), 'dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy h:mm tt "ET"' )

This statement:

I have tried inserting 'start date' and then got the ISO error again.

I am not sure how to insert dynamic reference inside an expression?

Hi @ARK_River ,

Here's a mini example from a SharePoint List.  Please mark as a solution.

My example SP List:

StartDate:

formatDateTime(

    convertFromUtc(outputs('Get_item')?['body/StartDate'], 'Eastern Standard Time'),

    'dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy h:mm tt "ET"'

)

DueDate:

formatDateTime(convertFromUtc(outputs('Get_item')?['body/DueDate'], 'Eastern Standard Time'), 'dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy h:mm tt "ET"')

Step #1: So in this next screen for the StartDate, I paste in the expression in the expression builder UI and then remove everything from outputs to StartDate'] and that leaves me a blank spot in the expression to point to my List column StartDate (if yours is named differently).  BTW:  If you column is named "StartDate" the expression works as-is.

Step #2: Next click on Dynamic values so you can point to your StartDate column from the List.

Step #3: Click on StartDate.

Step #4:  Save
